Jimmyvtec
Thomas Minns moves to Hull KR at end of season. What do we think folks?
davexponte
For Thomas's career it's a excellent move and well deserved. It's Featherstone rovers loss and Hull K.R.'s Gain. I wish him well for his future.

haskey
Was he under contract. ?? If so we should demand a good transfer fee. If not jt is right !! Do we not have any aspiration to progress.
fev4evatiggerneva
Isn't he 1 of the Leeds players on season long loan to us?
gazza77
Was he under contract. ?? If so we should demand a good transfer fee. If not jt is right !! Do we not have any aspiration to progress. 12 month contract for this year only. A loss to us, but we're not in a position to compete against those with far greater spending power. Good luck to the lad, this season was an opportunity to put himself in the shop window and he's done just that. Cardypaul
I don't really expect us to end up keeping any of the lads from Leeds, while its been a useful tool for us I only saw it as a short term measure. We need to concentrate on developing our own young players and hope to keep. However this will always be difficult if SL clubs come knocking at the door!!! elppaxr2i
Ultimately hes not our player - there wouldve been some sort of cavaet leeds wouldve had in place so that we dont hold his registration etc - we wouldve had very little say, negotiations would have taken place between leeds and KR, two clubs who arent rivals and not in the same league yes we probably said we wouldve been interested or not in talking etc but thats as far as it probably got with regards our input however no one on here will know whether we sat down and had a discussion with him with regards to next season also whats not to say minnsie didnt turn around to us and say " thanks for everything but i wont be here next season, ive sorted something out - but i am 100% commited till the seasons end" for example? I applaud our club for not getting involved not putting pressure on him and letting minnsie choose his ultimate destination
Steve Slater
It was a great move from the club to sign them on a one season contract, because all four of the Leeds Lads have aspirations to play regularly in Super League, and that has been their motivation. The only way we could have retained any of them was if they didn't perform as well as they have done.
Angel delight
You say all four have aspirations well I know other youngsters at fev want to but they are not given the chance as they take the space which is a shame. Then next year will Leeds send another four surplus to their needs to fev .Need to bring back proper reserves to all clubs . fev4evatiggerneva
Wouldn't mind borrowing a Baldwinson every year like, one of the better props in this division at a young age and very concistent, some good kids coming through at fev but there's a lot at stake this year, with the new format and a I think fev got quite a bit of strength in depth this year as shown at Bradford and Catalan. Angel delight
I think baldwinson would make a good 13.
fev4evatiggerneva
I think at 20 year old he's got the makings of an international prop, and with what I've seen of him wouldn't be surprised if Leeds had him back next season to replace peacock or leuluie, tough as old boots awesome workrate and a good pre season behind him with a top super league team, think he could be the business. Steve Slater
You say all four have aspirations well I know other youngsters at fev want to but they are not given the chance as they take the space which is a shame. Then next year will Leeds send another four surplus to their needs to fev .Need to bring back proper reserves to all clubs .The main problem is that while Fev are outside Super League the best youngsters like Baldwinson and Minns won't sign for them, even if they are local kids. So what Rovers have to do is develop the best of the rest:- kids that slip through the net like Zak, and those that get released by SL clubs, but still might make the top flight if they do well in the Championship. For some kids I think its the best way because outstanding youngsters need first team rugby when they are ready for it. What's the consensus of opinion on whether some of our youngsters should go out on loan to gain experience or stay to make the reserves a stronger side? The Blues Ox
Its another RFL problem. They let the big clubs hoover up all the talent surrounding teams like Fev and Halifax and when those players do not make it they are simply left on the scrap heap. An example is James Saltonstall for us, a local lad who we signed from Warrington. For me that says it all, he got the odd chance at Wire and then loan spells at Bradford and York before getting Champ 1 player of the year and then comes to his home town team. There is something wrong with that and another example is to count how many Fax lads are in the Huddersfield team, we are talking over 6 or 7 players mainly signed from Siddal. Teams at our level can not get better consistently if they have no chance of signing the best players from their area. Obviously the flip side is that you cant blame players wanting to play SL but I feel there has to be some give because too many players are snapped up by SL clubs in the hope they 'make it', when they dont it is very tough for them. Angel delight
Alot of reserves left last year to other clubs which was a shame ,and I was speaking to someone who knows Teasdale and he asked to go on loan and was told no ,he's one who needs to be playing first team because how do you improve when you don't play. The reserves don't have that many games.
