The York City Knights can confirm that their remaining league home fixtures will be played at Elm Park Way, the home of Heworth ARLC.

The Knights remain unbeaten at Elm Park Way and hope this continues as we push for promotion to the Championship. Our next fixture will see us welcome Oxford RLFC and ex Heworth coach Tim Rumford, this Sunday, with a 3.00pm Kick Off.

Referee: S Mikalauskas (one of the better ones)

A certain well informed gentleman didnt really blame the referee today and felt the lack of pace and scrappiness in the game was dictated by the oppositions players.

Jack Aldous fell foul of a player who has practised the 'dark art' of winding opposing players up for years in the amateur leagues.

As someone said it was a team with a pro outlook playing a team of amateurs but the team with the pro outlook almost got turned over.

Several onlookers, who operate within the game, felt that Referee Mikaluaskas would have been within his rights to have awarded the Knights four times as many penalties today..... and the upshot would have been that he would have been crucified by the powers that be !!! Catch 22 or what ?

As a spectacle, Greg's try apart, the second half didnt make for a great watch.....

Really disappointed with the ref - had been really good the 2 or 3 times we have had him previously.

Happy to scrape a win in the end - have a look at Fordy's comments in the Press today which sums up Oxford - but a very hot day to play with 12 men so massive credit to the lads for that. Far too many knock-ons to get a roll on, a thought from after the game was how much we missed the tackling of Ry Mallinder & Ed Smith

Haynsey's injury sounds like it could be season ending, massive blow for him & us, can only wish him all the best & hope that sometime he will actually get the change of luck he deserves

Poor game but we shot ourselves in the foot early on. Sometimes you need these nitty gritty wins though. Take Gloucestershire away last year when we lost and Austin Bell got sent off, we went on to lose, this time though we kept our composure and ground out a win.

Not the best of teams to play against but no point getting wound up by the referee, we've seen it happen all season this holding down malarkey so they're obviously going to allow it. Time to forget about it and play to our strengths and not worry about if they're slowing us down or not.

I suppose we get games like yesterday's now and again and it's disappointing when we do but fortunately there have been very few this season and at least we won this one and got the points. I agree with Shades [for a change!] and thought we'd have a decent game with that ref. in charge but how wrong can you be? Didn't he have the game when we played Featherstone Lions in the Cup earlier in the season? He cut out most of the niggling that night and clamped down on the spoiling tactics straight away but of course it resulted in quite a lot of penalties. I wonder if he got a boll.....g from Red Hall for it as he was definitely a different guy yesterday. The thing that puzzled me was the lack of use of the sin bin as surely that's what it's there for. Fordy said after the game nobody wants to see a hundred penalties in a game and he's right but he also said he could have put Oxford on a team warning early in the game and he's also right there and if he had done, unless the players are absolutely stupid, there wouldn't have been any need for many penalties.

Just a word on the point Shades made about missing the tackling of Mallinder and Ed. Smith, I totally agree with him there as well. I must go and have a lie down! [Only kidding Shades.]

Anyone heard anymore about Haynsey's injury?

Press today - no break, but waiting MRI scan on suspected cruciate ligament injury, could mean 6 to 12 months out or worse - gutted for him, will be a big miss

So possible options are Ben Dent or Jordan Howden at full back, personally might go with Jordan, leave Ben on the wing, Pat & Elvis at half back and start with Kris Brining at 9
