Championship Shield: Dewsbury 25 London 16

Thought is was a really good defensive effort today, it took a number of repeat sets before they finally scored their second try. The less said about the obvious forward pass for their third the beetr. How all three officials missed such a clear forward pass is hard to understand.

Pryce must have made his most tackles ever in a Rams game ad had three defenders on him every time he touched the ball.

Aizue had another good game, along with Spicer, Grady and Thackeray.

London came back really well in the second half, but some great defence kept them at bay. A far more entertaining game than I was expecting, roll on Fev.

Thought London were very poor opposition today. If I was a London supporter I would ask what they actually do as full time professionals because they certainly didn't look like a cohesive, well drilled unit to me. As for us I thought we started with intensity and in spells looked very dangerous in attack, plus we defended doggedly. Quite pleased but not ecstatic as we let them get within 6 points (with the help of some blizzard officiating from paragon of virtue, Jamie Bloem). Thought Glover went well on his league debut, Grady switched to pack worked, Aizue caused havoc and the oft maligned Wildie performed really well.

Agree with most of your points apart from Thackeray. Not a great deal of creativity from him. Wildie was far better in that department.

I felt we dominated throughout, but were not good enough to pull comfortably away from them. Much better defensive effort than in recent matches and I believe we tackled around the legs too. Now we must continue with that.

I'm afraid that Thacks mind is on next season. Can't blame him and we've had two good years from him but we all need to be able to move on.

Who will be our half-backs next season I wonder?

Thackeray chased back and saved two tries when London broke away, kicked the drop goal to settle the game and set up at least one try. He was well marked and in absence of Seymour he is even more the key playmaker. Wildie had a decent game, but wasted at least three kicks on London line.

Agree with all that. Wildie had his best game for us IMO, but you couldn't have described it as creative. I'd have been tempted to give KP the MOM, everybody he tackled went down first time - and some of them stayed down. Re the forward pass that led to Leigh's last try - swings and roundabouts, I reckon Uaisele's effort was grounded short. Morton had a decent game, but bombed a chance by ignoring Uaisele in support after a good break -  went missing again for a Leigh try. Lot better effort from the lads though all in all. Another season from Aizue would be fine with me (if not BSJ)  ;)

I don't sign 'em Grumpy. Word is that this is his last season but he has performed well in the last few games - best to go out on a high, don't you think?

It's been a long season ;)

Got a difficult decision this week

Do I go to Featherstone... And see another defeat....gotta break the lose streak before the final ;)

Way the playoffs are shaping up

Were going to play London at home

We've this season beaten them 4 times out of 4

Sods law says it won't be a fifth

You just watch ;)

Wasting your time WR.  BSJ already given up on Thacks and doubt would give him credit for a seven try romp...

Not at all, but in the South Stand (maybe the view is different) the general opinion was that he looked a little uninterested - catching and passing, never taking the ball to the line. Wildie did have a good game but, once again, some can never see that. At least a couple of people are now coming round to the view that Karl Pryce is actually a valuable member of the team.

I wonder who next season's scapegoat will be?

My bets on Jason crookes already ;)

Think what doesn't sit well with the fans regarding Karl Pryce is this

He don't look fit

Never seems to put in a rob spicer kind of herculean shift in

And his look of disinterest in the shirt

If you come to terms with your never gonna get any of the above

And realise thats not how he is as a player nor that's his style of play

You then can see what he does for the team

Never been a fan personally... But

We do miss his rock steadiness and his size when not in the team

If he could become a little leaner & a bit more hungry...

I'd have him again next season

Nash looks leaner and hungrier and look what's happened to him. ;)
