2016 Season & Squad

So it looks like Greg to Cas, Colton to Fev, Jamel Chisholm to Oldham and Liam Cunningham to don't know where.

So that leaves some space for some new faces, wonder when the club will announce any re-signings and any new signings - at the dinner on 9th October maybe?

The 3 directors put in place by JG got the deal sorted and signed for playing at the new stadium when its built and to play at Bootham Cresent football ground until it is built.

Those 4 people in my opinion have done a great job just keeping the club going on reduced gates and different home venues and still have managed to put a side out that got within 12 seconds of the grand final - understand 90% of those lads are happy to stay next season also.

The ''JG out'' people appear to have left the building

The "JG out" people put a lot of money and heart into the club in one way or another, so it's not a good thing they don't want to know anymore Col. I'd say it's a bloody tragedy for a club of York's size TBH.

There's about 1500 or so of us since 2005 who no longer support the club or attend games. I personally have been amazed how easy it is to lose touch with anything regarding the club, if you don't go looking for stuff they barely even register. I'm not even bothered with it all now and it was one of the main passions in my life.

It'll take more than 90% of a 4th placed League 1 side and a ramshackle half-baked organisation to attract us back I reckon, lots of real, structured work needs to be done to attract proper "investment" from sponsors to enable the club to achieve anything. No point just having some sycophants who do exactly as the owner says, that hasn't worked in the last 10 years so it certainly won't work now.

Best of luck though, you never know, I might be wrong and the missing 1500 will come straight back waving flags when the club start playing at a proper ground.

Agree with you completely Simon that its a tragedy that people who put a lot of money and heart into the club in one way or another don't want to know anymore and that its very easy to lose interest.

The numbers need to increase significantly for us as a club to move forward, but can really honestly say that we have enjoyed the home games this season despite all that's gone on, feels like the supporters, players, coaches and directors are an extremely close nit group nowadays.

Fordy is a very intelligent and ambitious coach who will get (has had) plenty of offers from elsewhere, but having spoken to him and seen the letter he sent out, he seems very keen to stay at our club knowing full well what the current set up is off the field.

I also think we will get a lot of stay away fans back when we (hopefully) play at BC - once they are back and see the type of rugby we play, I reckon they will stay

The word is knit it has a silent K as in Knights.

Sorry about the spelling - done in a rush - rest will agree to disagree

pressing the k key does take along time when you are in a rush !! Or I suspect copying and pasting someone else's comments.

I suspect you're talking total bo**ocks as normal - I don't need anyone (eg Atkins, McGill) to tell me what to say..

New signing Mike Emmett from Donny - 28 year old prop - sounds like the aggressive type.

Bad news for me - Jordan Howden released by Cas and joining Donny - they have made some great signings and are already favourites to go up in my opinion

2 home friendly's in new year at BC - Hull FC and Cas.

Let's not start this again Col, easiest way is to ignore people you don't agree with. Your coach is trying very hard to build some bridges and as you are one of the only people who use this forum now, you should maybe try doing that too rather than fueling the ill feeling with posts like that.

Unless things have changed at some point this season, Mike Emmett is a utility player, best at hooker but with the facility to play loose forward.

More to come..

Andy - not sure where I got the prop bit from - maybe cos Fordy was saying about been more competitive up the middle etc - when do you think more to come will be announced?

Can't see 'hopefully' in the Press story - for you're info the story says the 1st game could be played on New Year weekend when City are playing away from home

Just like last season when we were to play Hull FC at BC? Hopefully is the key word here.
