  1. Looking at the 'highlights', defensively it's a horror show at times, particularly after the break.
  2. Heworth and ‘Corn got beat too.
  3. The ostriches will remain so…
  4. Part of the problem is that everyone involved in the game is muzzled with regard to referee comment and, believe you me, what is said 'on air' and off the record is quite markedly different in many cases. There is a problem as I watch Super League games and agree with what you say but it is tempered by the situation the officials find themselves in, with different interpretations and constant analysis. Strangely, I watch NRL and don't see the same failings and drawbacks in the watch experience regarding the officiating and it's application. I do think it's down to the quality of official as well though - it would be fascinating to see Gerard Sutton, Grant Atkins or Ashley Klein in charge of a game over here.
  5. I can only agree. If I had just been a fan, I do wonder if I'd be spending my weekends watching Thunder or one of our community sides. The 'watch' experience of the game at SL is depressing. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the Knights compete at the level and the lad's efforts but the Super League 'product' is currently not fit for purpose regarding the rules and the effect it has on officials, who are like rabbits in headlights. There was much discussion about it in the press room after yesterdays game between media persons with a combined over a hundred years of watching RL. If someone had said to me that I would end up watching a game where a referee made a decision, then we had a 90 second stoppage in play for an injury and, during that time, he watched the big screen replay three or four times and then changed his mind and changed his decision before play restarted, I would have been in disbelief but it happened yesterday. It's the game but not as we know and love it.
  6. .. can be a mixed bag but what a top lad to listen to in Sam Wood..
  7. Mash says Kieran is back in full training, has been for a while and is looking good so, as a straight choice between him and Sangare?
  8. If you're in the main stand, come by and say hello.
  9. and one of them was skipper for a while.
  10. It's a long time since I experienced such a disappointing day following the fortunes of our two sides. Everyone seemed confident pre-match but Wigan were far superior on the day. Handling errors, ill-discipline and an erosion of confidence after slipping three converted tries behind made for a very difficult day for all concerned. There were a couple of positives in that Lisa Parker was excellent as was Megan Pakulis. although I am far from convinced that she was playing in her optimum role, and Petra Woods showed some good touches. Not easy either interviewing or being interviewed in the situation so thank you to Sinead and Leon post-match.
  11. IMG's time is very limited now. RFL have got Bradford where they want them, once London are in (15 teams), I think the Championship will have about as much standing as the NCL or whatever it's called currently.
  12. Yep. I was 35.
  13. York's last away victory against the Saints was 19-15 on 5 February, 1938 (at Knowsley Road) Now there's a statistic for you....
  14. To my knowledge, Dave is back in Oz, been there for a number of years and is keeping well and enjoying his horse racing.
  15. He maybe knows he’s on our wish list for next season
