I thought I'd post some good news for a change. According to the latest edition of CAMRA'S Good Beer Guide the UK has the largest number of breweries per head of population in the world. It also points out that real ale is bucking the trend in a declining drinks market taking an ever increasing share year on year. A far cry from my early drinking days back in the late 1970s when a hand pump was a rare thing to see in a pub.
Oh, and my local has made it into the last 16 of their Pub of the Year for this year for the second time running.
