Good win. Sunday will be a tough game backing up on a 4 day turn around. Hopefully get a good crowd Sunday. Forecast is 22C (feels like we have been unlucky with weather at home games this year) and it's a bank holiday weekend. I don't see any reason why we can't win our remaining fixtures. We play Widnes and Oldham away which will be tough but both sides have a bit of drama off the field, Oldham have started losing players.

Beaten 18-40 but it was a lot closer than that. Went 12-0 up and completed really well. On the 25 minute mark went down to 12 men and touched the ball once in 10 minutes which massively sapped our energy. Was 18-22 with 20 minutes to go but we just ran out of steam. Unfortunately missing one of our best props, starting hooker, both starting second rowers made a huge difference. Oldham are a very good side. Be interesting to see what the result will be when we play them next. Not sure they will be as strong.

He took over a club who won 3 games out of 27 the previous season. In his first season (which included new signings) he won 13/27. They started this season off 3 from 7. Not table topping form but not horrendous. There's a lot of sides who have had a mixed start to the season who could well finish near the top. What were the board expecting him to do? Take a club who won 3 out of 27 and be challenging at the top? Building a successful culture which leads to being consistently at the top of the table takes time, it can't be done overnight.

Based on watching tonight's game and the scenes after the game it seems like a very odd decision I can't understand why a board would take this action. The fans absolutely love him, the players are really bought in. Hull made massive improvements last year and have been pretty competitive this year despite rough luck with injuries. If McNamara replaces him he's walking into a poisoned chalice. I don't think McNamara is universally loved nor do I think he has the coaching record to justify ousting a coach who wasn't doing that badly and clearly loved by the players and fans.

Hard to tell based on that .

Think 18-8 doesn't give the performance justice. Ritson also scored in the first half in the corner he was pretty adamant he grounded the ball. First half against the wind we probably defended 8 or 9 sets on our line and Widnes only came away with 4 points, we then snuck into the lead at half time. Second half Widnes barely got out of their half. Ref gave a horrendous knock on against Tee when it was blatantly knocked out and it gave them territory, but we then immediately scored to make it a 2 score game. Dominated through the middle. A middle rotation of Walker, Bullock, Richards, King, Makin and Stack is pretty exceptional. Thankfully only a fortnight till the next home game.

Very bizarre ending to the Barrow v Widnes game. Pretty competitive throughout but Barrow edging it 18-8 in tricky conditions (very bad wind). Widnes players didn't clap their fans for coming which resulted it them getting boo'd as they walked down the tunnel. Very bizarre scenes. Widnes didn't play horrendous and Widnes brought good support and cheered throughout so unsure what caused that.

Won 24-29. 29-12 up with 14 minutes left but Hunslet fought back. A wins a win. Their side on paper was pretty good with the signings they brought in. Thankfully only 12 days to the Widnes game which will be a measure of where we are.

Oldham are going to get a fair bit weaker as they've messed their finances up but they'll still be strong. Hopefully just get a win Sunday and then a decent prep into Widnes. Absolutely dying for a home game, feels like it's been ages.

Pretty sure Cresta said in pre season the playing budget had been cut. The post on the Facebook states if we had a balanced home and fixture list this wouldn't be an issue. We have 2 home games in 3 months then have 4 home games in 7 weeks. It doesn't make sense. The 1895 cup draw was an absolute disaster. It removed 2 weekends we could potentially have played our 2 replacement home games, added a load of cost and lowest probability of getting through.

Won 30-0. Very similar to the Workington game but not as expansive at the back end. The pitch was heavy similar to what we have played with at home. I feel we look good but we haven't been tested. Top of the league but essentially played 3 league 1 teams. Next week is the test.

Sad state of affairs really, one of my favourite away trips is Halifax. I wonder what went wrong? Their team on paper didn't look like they'd spent a fortune (compared to others in the league) but you don't know what happens in the background. Hope the small minority of fans who consistently slate the club are starting to realise how difficult it is to run a rugby league club and start appreciating what we have. Salford fans were just happy to have a team too watch the other week.
