New Deal For Tigers With Riverside Car Sales

28 October 2014 - 02:47 PM

The club is pleased to announce an upgraded kit sponsorship deal with long time partners Riverside Car Sales.

The agreement will see the used car dealership's logo remaining on the back of the Tigers' home and away playing shirts throughout the 2015 season.

Castleford based Riverside Car Sales' association with the club started in 2009, and increased a year later when they featured on the back of the 2010 shirts.

Since then, Riverside has provided the club with sponsorship and has given supporters incentives, including offering free MOT's if the Tigers' won certain games throughout the season.

Riverside has recently expanded its business, and Riverside Carpets can now be found inside the car showroom with a vast range of products.

Below is the Riverside logo on the 2015 home shirt:

Castleford Tigers' Commercial Director Mark Grattan said: "We are extremely pleased to extend our partnership with Riverside Car Sales, who have been a commercial partner of ours for many years now.

"Riverside is unique in the way it offers supporters great money saving schemes based on the team's performance, and their support of the club cannot be questioned. We are sure they will continue to see a fantastic return in investment with their association with the club."

Gary Jenkinson, owner of Riverside Car Sales said: "Castleford Tigers is a huge part of the local community in Castleford, and so it is a pleasure and an honour to partner with an organisation that shares the same consumer base as us.

"We have enjoyed a fruitful relationship with the club for many years and as such we are pleased to agree a new and improved deal that will increase Riverside's exposure on a national scale, including the new carpet stock we have in the showroom.

"We hope the club can have another great season in 2015."

Riverside Car Sales is based on Lock Lane, Castleford, WF10 2JZ. For more information, head to www.riversidecarscastleford.co.uk or call 01977 883 619.

The club will be posting a new sponsor story every weekday until Monday 3rd November, with a snapshot of the company logo on the 2015 shirt. The new XBlades home jersey will be released for sale on Tuesday 4th November from the club shop in Carlton Lanes, before going online at a later date.

Shenton Keeps England Place

28 October 2014 - 02:21 PM

Castleford captain Michael Shenton has been selected in England's starting lineup for the second Four Nations match against Australia on Sunday.

The centre scored in the 32-26 opening game win over Samoa in Brisbane, which was his first taste of international rugby in over three years.

Daryl Clark remains on the bench, despite impressing and creating Shenton's try within moments of making his bow for his country.

England head coach Steve McNamara told www.englandrl.co.uk: "We have named the same 17 as last week. A few of our blokes haven't been able to train fully during the early part of the week.

"Even though we have named the same side, there could be a change or two at the back end of the week. It is really difficult to name a team earlier in the week. Firmer decision will be made towards the weekend, when we arrive in Melbourne.

"It was a hard-fought win for us against Samoa. There is room for improvement within our game. We had to overcome a very talented and tenacious team with limited preparation in extreme heat."

England play Australia on Sunday 2nd November (05:00) before facing New Zealand on Saturday 8th November (07:00).

England team to face Samoa: S Tomkins (New Zealand Warriors), J Charnley (Wigan), K Watkins (Leeds), M Shenton (Castleford), R Hall (Leeds), G Widdop (St George Illawarra), M Smith (Wigan), G Burgess (South Sydney), J Hodgson (Hull KR), J Graham (Canterbury Bulldogs), L Farrell (Wigan), J Westerman (Hull).

England replacements: D Clark (Castleford), B Ferres (Huddersfield), T Burgess (South Sydney), C Hill (Warrington).
