The Halifax Courier used to have a Rugby League correspondent these days it has a “sports” correspondent which basically means we get none stop reporting about FC Halifax Town taking their side in the continuing controversy over the state of the pitch.
The correspondent is a self confessed FC Halifax Town fan which, in my opinion doesn’t absolve him from not taking a neutral stance

Probably the first time Marsters has run over anyone since he has been here. Newman flatters to decieve doesn't li e up to his billing very often.
He was poor last season but he’s been very good so far this year

Miller really lucky not to get a red at the end

A few years ago my mate and I walked Hadrian’s wall, we were lucky in that the weather was marvellous and that we had enough time to take it easy and weren’t tied down to a strict timetable

No, you're not. You are right to be sceptical. If you do decide to contact him, go slowly and carefully. You've no idea what he's been up to or what sort of friends he has made. I think you should make an effort (he has reached out to you), but be careful. Are you sure it is him or could someone else have got hold of his phone or even stolen his identity?
Definitely reach out to him, but meet him on neutral ground first. Be careful and good luck.
Thanks Tony, yes it’s him, he alluded to things only he’d know.
His mother and I split when he was three, she comes from a reasonably well off family. He’s had everything on a plate and gradually over the years has burned all his bridges.
He owes his mother, grandmother and I thousands of pounds and really doesn’t seem to have a responsible bone in his body.
It’s awful to say but there you are

My son who we’ve not spoken to for seven years has got in touch out of the blue saying he’s made lots of mistakes but none of them are worth sacrificing his family for.
He contacted his sister about a month ago to say he wasn’t doing too well, she messaged him back but he deleted his message
It sounds really terrible but I’m sceptical and wondering what he’s after. Am I being really terrible here?

Getting shot of your best player is a unique way of trying to rebuild
Unless that player is a toxic character

It’s unlikely to happen these days but I’d say anyone but Bradford

Fax 18 Batley 10 in monsoon conditions, Fax defended multiple sets on their goal line at many points during the game.
Pity a small group, 5 or 6 Batley fans were challenging Fax fans to fight right at the end. Luckily Fax fans just laughed and suggested they go to Leeds United for that type of carry on.

Catalan are definitely becoming masters of grinding out the win even if not playing at their best, something that very good teams seem capable of

I’ve only got two basses these days, a fender jazz bass which is my go to for gigging and a peavey which is a nice mid cost back up model

Speaking of clubs not paying staff.....

You’ll find the vast majority of scouts work in a voluntary capacity

Off to the Leeds O2 Academy tomorrow night to see The Mary Wallopers

We played them in the middle 8's back in 2017 in front of 1800 fans. I just don't have any affiliation with Catalans at all, I very rarely watch their SL games and have very little interest in them. If Fax lower the entry price again then I would probably go. If it’s full price I will probably swerve if theres any decent amateur games on.
I’m pretty much the opposite, they’re the SL team I follow albeit at a distance so I’ll definitely be there

Why would Fax lose money on the game? I get there wouldn't be many away fans but surely more locals than normal would turn out to see one of the top Superleague teams?
As I pointed out last night on the Panthers Facebook group, there’s 2800 members of the group, if we all go and take a friend who’s never been before it’s a good start.
Lets hope the club market the bejasus out of it in the short time before the game

Wilkins should not commentate on saints games such a sycophant.
Absolutely, as my daughter says when he’s doing his wife he makes her wear a Welsby mask
Final Whistle: The Rugby League rules I’d like to see changed

Posted
“The tackled player will regain his feet and PLACE OR DROP the ball in front of him and play it backwards with his foot”
It seems we change “interpretations” but leave the laws as they are, voluntary tackle etc
