  1. Let's all ensure the Rugby League family come together to remember this great guy by standing and applauding on the sixth minute at the Challenge Cup. In our game the big and small clubs are all equal as is every players. http://www.hornetsrugbyleague.co.uk/News/Article/46426
  2. Gutted I wasn't there had the privilege of listening to the game of Oldham Community Radio, would like to give a big thanks to Malcolm Lord and all the others who made it possible. Great comment from Malcolm to CH after the match "Well another win for the roughyeds Chris, you can't be happy with that......... you're going to have to give out winning Again !!!!". P.s Tub and Crab get a grip!!!
  3. Agree. Can't understand why we don't make the most of these opportunities. It leaves me baffled.
  4. I think a family area may be a good idea, but on the other hand may be there should be a free language area as hopefully these would be in the minority. I do believe the swearing is excessive and I would have an issue taking my 5 year old to a game, I also believe it puts other people off from coming
  5. Stuart Peerce is a good fan to. He likes does some decent advertising in Talk Sport would also be good for publicity
  6. 100% effort from all the players today. When Dewsbury put four subs on after 20 minutes they were on the back foot, that was their trump card and our lads stepped up to the mark. Well done you should all be proud and fear nobody in this division. Not saying we'll win every match but by playing like that every opposition will know they've been in a game and what it's like to play against a 'TEAM with true spirit and the heart of a Lion'. Well done boys feel really proud, and great support from all the fans!!! 'COME ON OLDHAM'

  8. Good effort from the lads, think the full time team showed their ability and experience to grind a win throughout the 80 minutes. Stressing issue. I believe a lot of the stewards are from Latics and they are applying the same rule from oafc. No ecigs
  9. Good to hear this is happening. Definitely a drop in the ocean if we want the extra support we all crave. With the event at Spindles it can only be good. Have to bear in mind that most of the players work all week so spare available time for them a difficult with training to get as well. One big issue I have is I now hear that Saddleworth High School only play Union, heard it from a lads who plays in the school team. How ridiculous is that. The heartland of Rugby League in Oldham losing its sole in my opinion.
  10. As new comers Oldham are just happy to be in the mix after soooooooo many years of trying. I'd honestly started to give up believing. We're just hoping to be competitive at some level and to stay in the division, building for the season after. Hopefully we can make our new home ground a fortress?? Looking at the other teams players I'm not convinced we can stay in the division due to lack of funds, players and infrastructure, but we've been used to nothing else over the last 10 years All I can say is enjoy our spirit & come to our new home it looks like it should offer a really good atmosphere. THE ROUGHYEDS ARE BACK
  11. Don't give the hierarchy any stupid ideas, they're good enough at making their own mistakes. Like next door neighbours dog, 'Leave it well alone'
  12. Surprised but pleased. The ground looks great and if nothing else it's sort of positioned on the right side of town. The club needs to sort out the tavel arrangements for those who'll find difficulty in getting there, with an additional bit of help from supporters to make sure nobody misses out. I'd rather be here than BP the atmosphere will be miles better here by filling all sides. No sure on the size of the pitch, BP is huge, if this is a little smaller it might help in a few games as we know visiting teams are going to be bigger and faster so condensing the game is a must probably should save that for another topic. All in all I'll risk being ostracized and say 'well done Chris, it took a while but you've come up with the best result possible' , just next time pull your finger out and give us a clue what's happening. On a final note. Let add this to our Chrimbo list and support the best we can with a season ticket.
  13. I predict there will be a ground sharing season with BP and HC. All the grade A games Fax, bulls, fev, Leigh etc being played at BP with the rest going to HC. Remember the last times we've been at BP ground repairs and stuff has meant we've had to continually be nomadic. I believe this is what CH means when he talks about complications. 'Look into the past to see the future' !!!!!
  14. Just keep picking up the Chronicle in hope there'll be some news. CH words at the end of the season 'We'll be able to confirm things in a few days' ??? feels like grounding day. I'd love to say no news is good news, but this is Oldham and we tend to fear the worst
  15. Not sure how on the ball I am, but heard on GMR Hewitt has been released by Saint and signed for Sheffield Eagles today. Thought he might of been a decent addition
