  1. Keeping a low profile. Coming in under the radar and all that.
  2. I thought that too. Pity, as it would have been the try of the match. Mamo is a breath of fresh air just for his enthusiasm. Rick Stone has already said his anticipation / quick thinking is exceptional. He has been in the right place at the right time a few times this season and at 22 can only get better. He spends plenty of time after games with the fans taking photos, signing autographs etc. so is already a fans favourite.
  3. I spoke to a Wire fan after the game and he's convinced there are plenty of problems behind the scenes and he's already looking forward to going to Toronto, Toulouse and London (I'm presuming he thinks Hull KR will replace Wire in SL). It was one of the worst Wire performances I've seen in a long time (not taking too much away from the Giants). Confidence seems to be shot to pieces.
  4. Indeed. Some very odd results this season. Giants need to win next 3 v Wire, Catalans and Saints if they want to avoid middle 8's. Hope Jordan Turner gives us a bit of a boost and Danny behaves himself.
  5. Another factor may have been that moving it gave the opportunity to rip the pitch up and relay it a bit earlier than expected giving it chance to recover before the Wie game. Not saying that's a good reason but it may have had an influence in the decision to move the game.
  6. Indeed. People seem to forget that the opposition has an influence on how well or poorly you play.
  7. I loved that kick where the Leeds fans started cheering as it looked like the ball was going dead. Suddenly the ball seemed to have a mind of it's own, did a lovely pirouette and gently stopped 6 inches from the line. The only downside was that Jack Walker did well avoiding a couple of our players to get the ball back to the 20 metre line.
  8. Although we have our first choice fullback and whole back row out we have still named a very decent squad. Should be a good competitive game and I'm hoping the Giants want to put last season's Middle 8 game to bed. They've spoken plenty of times about not wanting to be in that situation again so we'll have to see if they can back up the talk.
  9. Back in squad are McGillvary, Cudjoe, Gaskell, Murphy and Ta'ai. Mamo a bit behind as his ankle is taking longer to loosen up than anticipated. Current injured are Mamo, Symonds, Lawrence, Ferguson, Simpson and O'Brien.
  10. Michael Lawrence needs knee microfracture surgery. His knee is currently infected therefore that needs sorting before he can have the op. Tom Symonds is 3-4 weeks away and Jerry is in the Leigh squad. He had a quad tear that obviously wasn't as bad as first feared.
  11. Lawrence is out until July / August.
  12. We don't do Sundays any more. Home games now on a Friday (usually).
  13. Moved from Friday to Thursday at the request of Huddersfield Town AFC as they have a huge game v Newcastle on Saturday. Gives the pitch time to recover as HTAFC play possession football with the football staying on the ground the vast majority of the time. Bobbles are not appreciated as it slows their game down.
  14. I think I'd rather Giants lose by a try with Giants ahead at half time and Salford with 13 all 80 if it means keeping Brough in one piece.
