About Dewsbury Rams

  1. Dewsbury Rams regret to advise supporters requiring to use the lift in the Main Stand to gain access to either the stand seats or the disabled viewing gantry that the lift is out of action and there isn’t a suitable way of accessing these areas for supporters unable to use the stairs. Apart from causing the floodlights to fail the power outage at the sub station on Thursday evening also caused a switch in the lift to blow rendering the lift unusable. Engineers came on Friday to try to rectify the problem and ordered the required replacement parts but these won’t be available until Monday. They tried to carry out a further temporary repair today but we have been told this afternoon that those attempts have failed. We recognise that this is a major inconvenience for fans but there is absolutely nothing more we can so to put this right until Monday. Had the problem with the sub station occurred earlier in the day or on the Wednesday then we would just about have sorted it. The engineer first arrived early on Friday and two days have been spent trying to put it right. There is ample space available pitch side but no elevated viewing spots. Entry will be via the turnstile at the right hand side of the club shop. A steward will be able to assist any wheelchairs into the stadium via the exit gate. A fully accessible toilet is available in this area. Any disabled spectators who are able to manage the steps can use the viewing balcony in the normal way. Please spread the word to anyone you know who may normally use this area of the ground to watch the game.
  2. No for this game they can go straight to the turnstile.
  3. Dewsbury Rams are pleased to confirm the details for their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup fourth round tie with Bradford Bulls. The game will take place at The Tetley’s Stadium on Friday 18 March and kick off at 8.00pm. The fixture has been made ‘all ticket’ and supporters are advised to purchase tickets in advance to ensure minimum delays on the night. Bradford have requested and taken their full allocation of advance sale tickets and are expecting to sell out and coupled with the growing interest in the game the two clubs agreed to make it all ticket. Last year’s clash between the Rams and the Bulls in the Kingstone Press Championship attracted a record attendance at The Tetley’s Stadium of more than 4,000 and we anticipate another big crowd for the encounter later this month. Adult and concession season tickets are not valid for this match, but junior season ticket holders will receive free admission upon the exchange of a voucher in their book for a match ticket. This exchange must take place at the club by Thursday 17 March. No exchanges will be made on match day. Adults, concessions and juniors without season tickets can buy tickets from the club from 11.00am on Monday. The ticket office will be open until 7.00pm on Monday 7, Wednesday 9, Friday 11 and Monday 14 March to allow supporters time after work to make purchases. Standard admission prices apply for this match as follows: North Stand (seated) Adults £17 Over 65s and Students £12 Under 16s £11 South Stand and East Terrace (standing) Adults £15 Under 65s and Students £11 Under 16s £2 Wheelchair users are requested to contact the club directly to reserve their place since capacity for the gantry is limited and available on a first come first served basis. For further information call 01924 465489 or email info@dewsburyrams.co.uk.
  4. GFDU has been very ill in hospital for several weeks. Please respect this and do not make further comments. Thank you.
  5. Voting is now open for Dewsbury Rams fans to have their say on The Press' player of the year for 2013. Last term Steve Crossley clinched the prize and we plan to unveil this year's winner in the Friday September 20 edition. To take part all you need to do is send an email entitled 'Dewsbury Rams Press Player of the Year 2013' to: sport@thepressnews.co.uk with the name of your chosen player. Voting will close at noon on Monday September 16.
  6. Tomorrow (Sunday) may prove to be a major highlight in the rugby league career of Rams' forward Tommy Gallagher. The player (whose 30th birthday is just over a week away!) will make the 200th appearance of his professional career if he takes the field for the Rams tomorrow at the Leigh Sports Village. That stage would ironically be at the ground of the club which he left to join the Rams having made 21 appearances for Leigh last season following his move over the Pennines from Batley Bulldogs. Tommy has made 23 appearances for the Rams so far this season scoring 3 tries. His career also includes spells in Super League with London, Widnes and Hull KR and in the Championship with Rochdale, Swinton and Widnes. It's a superb achievement in this modern day game for any player to reach this landmark and the club would like to congratulate Tommy on the achievement as an when he takes to the field.
  7. Dewsbury Rams still have a number of Challenge Cup Final tickets available for sale at £26 each. They are for block 517 which we understand is the Hull end of the ground. Tickets can be bought in person at the club or over the telephone 01924 465489 using your credit/debit card. The office is open 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
  8. Dewsbury Rams are holding their annual presentation night on Friday 23rd August in the Royal Suite at the Tetley’s Stadium starting at 7.30pm. The presentations include the Supporters’ Player of the Year Award, awards from the club itself and its coaching team as well as the ones voted on by the players themselves. The awards ceremony will then be followed by a Race Night so there will be plenty to keep you entertained throughout the evening. Admission is by ticket which are priced £5 each and available from the club during the week during normal office hours or in the Royal Suite before and after the Sheffield game (and at the Doncaster game if any are left). The admission cost includes homemade meat and potato pie and peas to make it a real bargain price and a great value evening’s entertainment. Apologies for not getting this on the web site for everyone but we are experiencing problems in accessing the admin part of the site and we like to post on both the site and the forum at the same time where we can.

The semi-final game will be preceded by a 7th place play off match between Russia (making their second visit to the stadium this week) and Ireland in a game which kicks off at 6pm. Admission is by payment at the main stand turnstiles price £4 adults and £1 children under 16. For further details please contact the club.
  10. Dewsbury Rams now have a limited supply of £30 tickets for the Challenge Cup Final on sale from the club office at a discounted price of only £26. As a part of an official RFL initiative the more tickets the Rams sell via their office the greater the commision is to the club. So if you are thinking about going and haven't yet bought your tickets then why not get them from the club. Save yourself some money and earn money for the Rams at the same time!
  11. The kick off time for the Northern Rail Cup game has been put back by 30 minutes to try and make it easier for people to make the trip to Don Valley. We have agreed the following pricing arrangements with Sheffield Eagles which will hopefully be easier on the pocket and perhaps entice more people to make it to the game!
