  1. There's a rugby shirt shop in Hessle (Hull) that has shirts from all over the world, they trade online as well as selling the odd shirt over the counter...............
  2. A real shame what's happening at York, we've had some real ding-dong games with them over the years. Guildford's a hard guy to like, and once he'd p*ssed off the Council, the writing was on the wall............
  3. I've been to ground zero twice now, and I've never been so profoundly moved (Even at Auschwitz)..........
  4. I think it's worth repeating something said in an earlier post about no-one in Britain wearing a veil 20 years ago. Does that mean that that Islam is progressing, or regressing............? I'm all for people being able to wear what they want within reason, after all I was served by a very nice transvestite in Tesco yesterday. However, I'm fairly sure that If I walked around certain parts of Turkey bare chested with union jack shorts on, I would be arrested. Likewise if I walked around Prestwich in Manchester wearing a replica Waffen SS uniform. A bijou strollette around the Chapeltown West Indian Carnival in my Grand Wizard hood perhaps.........? No harm in either case, no one gets hurt............. However, one has to be sensitive and considerate to the feelings of the general population. If something worn by a minority, offends the majority, it should rightly be banned in my view............
  5. Dave T. I think that you'll find a lot of the husbands in Syria are dead, or have fled to Europe without their families. But then again, that's another topic entirely. I have no problems with Muslims per se, you may well remember the group who helped out during the floods for instance. I do however have a problem with a culture that does not respect our laws or heritage and traditions. That makes no attempt to integrate into British society, choosing instead to live in closed ghettos, with it's own schools and places of worship. A culture that doesn't recognise the law of the land, but openly practises Sharia law. A culture that we openly welcome and assist, even though that culture despises the west, it's armed forces and police.
  6. Great debate, and some good points raised............... I'm against the wearing of burkhas/burkinis/hijabs/nijabs or whatever simply because it is not a religious or even cultural requirement. It is predominantly enforced by a male society who choose to restrict the movement, choices, and lifestyles of women. While some may state the women say it is their choice, how could they possibly say otherwise, in a culture that practises honour killings and forced marriages........? It was interesting to see some of the women in recently liberated cities in Syria tearing off their burkas in the street, to symbolise their freedom from a repressive regime. We simply cannot allow any culture that has no respect for women and children to inflict middle-age rules on a modern civilised society. It is also expected that when abroad, that we should respect the culture of that country, and dress in such a way that is sympathetic to that culture and environment. I don't think that is restrictive, or even too much to ask. I do find the wearing of Islamic dress, or seeing women walking three paces behind their husbands offensive, simply because in this country (on the whole), women are treated as equals................
  7. It would have been a disaster this season, what with the Rhinos taking all our players...........................
  8. Terrific performance after last week. Showed passion and desire, played for the shirt. Nice handling skills in places, and even a 40-20 thrown in for good luck.....
  9. You're not too far away Geoff..................
  10. Thought we played well in places, would be nice to see a bit of continuity in team selection for the first few matches.......
  11. Jordan ĺilley is 19.....
  12. When you are no longer dining at the top table, you still have to eat. Let's see how it pans out before we throw in the towel. Who knows, we might get to see some of our own players shine....
  13. Unfortunately, relegation to Championship one has moved the goalposts, so to speak..................
  14. No-one's training at Kirkstall (It's flooded).....................
