    Salford in financial trouble again?

No its before his time and your right the whole thing is too murky to be commenting on in detail. Salford made the mistake of selling the willows first. The process taking too long. Then one investor dying , gambling laws costing them american investment (originally the ground was to be a casino) and a house builder collapsing who was also putting in money. https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/casino-rivals-fight-over-stadium-1107557 Leaving the with a weak hand to deal with. Marwan saved Salford, but at the time i could see Salford were not out of trouble.

    Salford in financial trouble again?

Are you familiar with the local geography and public transport around that area. Sale Sharks are having the same issues. Manchester United hated the ground so much they opted for the reserves to play at the LSV. The trafford centre only works as you can drive to a large onsite car park. Salford will benefit from the metrolink extension but that could be years off.

Where do you think the loan came from that saved Swinton? https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/town-hall-bails-out-swinton-13464148

    Salford in financial trouble again?

I am not sure they work as well as people think in the short term. They appear to work well in existing areas of rugby league talent. Not convinced it would deliver for salford in the short term.

    honours list....

I believe he is based in Nigeria and been developing both codes alongside Ade Adebisi in the country for the last few years. You can say it will be for his work in union, but technically he has helped give Rugby League a foothold in Nigeria. Hint if your a journalist this is a good story to look at the work Ade Adebisi has been doing. Having spent time in that part of the world getting rugby played of any code is not an easy task. Let alone rugby league. Something until a few weeks i would have said is impossible. Given local conditions and politics.

    Very exciting development in Africa

I would argue take the Football 13 approach used in Chile dont even go near the word Rugby.

RFL usher in rule changes for 2019

But again if you need half backs to win the defensive liability is balanced out by the requirement to have a player maker. A halfbacks job is to play with vision and awareness, not tackle.

RFL usher in rule changes for 2019

Because a Royal Marine and a body builder have the same physique. Stamina is not built by curling weights. Increase the stamina requirement you increase the engine a player needs. If a less physical side can push a bigger side for 20 minutes with out the option to rotate forwards it will run out of gas. Unless the bigger side starts to use its backs.

RFL usher in rule changes for 2019

It has a lot do with how we select players. If you physically profile a player rather than having a system were you get talented rugby players coming through. I would rather watch a game with a Andy Gregory or a Phil Ford in it. The move away from American Football huge gives us a unique selling point. A ballet of endurance, stamina, skill and high speed entertainment.

Viewing figures seem to suggest otherwise.

UK RL desperately needs a Manchester club

I would say a few thousand, not hundred. But its important to distinguish how a marketing executive brands an area compared to how people identify to an area. I expect Salford City FC to do well under a Salford identity.

RFL usher in rule changes for 2019

Super League is boring to watch. Its 5 drives and a kick. Rugby League at its best is watching 13 guys who look like normal guys and thinking you could play like they could. The difference being the guys on the field are extremely talented. Halfback play and ability to use the ball have gone since we went full time professional. What we have now is a bunch of gym bunnies with zero imagination running into each other. Nobody wants to watch that.

RFL usher in rule changes for 2019

Smaller players will bring back a greater skill level. Physicality = boring rugby.
