  1. After 7 years Tony Spence has stepped down after doing an excellent job, with Dave Wray in pole position to step into his shoes hopefully they’ll continue to fly the flag for the Hull area in the top flight
  2. Shaw Cross Sharks product Joe Chandler has returned to the club as the new first team coach. The 23-year-old prop and second-rower with Keighley Cougars will take charge of the Sharks’ National Conference League side and will be assisted by Brett Turner and Steve Jones. Chandler, whose younger brother Aiden made 19 first team appearances in 2012, came through the Leeds Rhinos academy before spells at Oldham and Halifax. He joined home town club Dewsbury Rams for a loan stint last season but was snapped-up by new Keighley Cougars boss Paul March in November. Sharks have also named Daz Bastow, Craig Simons and Jonny Bond as their coaching team for the A side currently playing in Pennine League Division 3. Pre-season training starts on Monday, January 14 (6.15pm) at the Sharks' Leeds Road clubhouse. The website will be updated in due course. Previous Head Coach Andy Parkinson did a superb job in charge and shawxsharks.com would like to place on record what a great job he did in bringing back the confidence in all the players and the team.
