Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Recommended Posts

We haven’t had snow (settled on the ground) for over 1000 days in bedford.  Tomorrow looks like that will change.

Guess who’s driving to work at 7am and will be the first onto the roads...

Ya, but wait until the spring melt/flooding!  Then the Lord blesses us with both...thinking of Florida more and more as a real alternative, but then you got the Hurricanes!...is no where safe?   People on here keep referring to Hull...is Hull a nice safe place?

Funny you should ask. I was only watching the River Hull tidal barrier keeping us safe last night as it was lowered to keep out a very high spring tide pouring in from the Humber. The city still floods though, just nowhere near as much as it used to before the barrier was built.

The mural on the side of the pub shows the height of the water during the 2013 North Sea storm surge.

Hopefully all the hoses to the kegs in the basement were leak proof,,,if not... well,,,, that would be a real tragedy!

That pic, I thought I'd put the wrong one as the first one I took was with the window shut but it looked daft with all the melted snow obscuring the window, those blobs against the sky are actual snowflakes...

This is the first snow that's landed and lasted here for more than 20 minutes since 2012.

A decent landing of snow out the back of ours in deepest Suffolk.

That is not a snowfall...that doesn't even qualify as a whisp of snow.

The upcoming week here is an average forecast but it has the potential to hammer us if the squalls remain stationary for a long period of time...we'll probably get a couple of feet this week but it could be as high as 4 feet this week, all depends on the movement of the squalls...I figure about a meter this week..

Yes, snow looks lovely through the window and thats as close as I intend to get!

I might top up the bird feeders later but I will leave the snowman making to my Grandsons tomorrow if the forecast rain doesnt wash it away.

Have you seen the state of this country?  Just watching on the news about the M25 (the London orbital motorway for our non UK members) being closed in a few sections with pictures of cars all over the place, skid marks everywhere and a right old mess.

The area I saw had had under an inch of landed snow.

Oh come on, that's beyond disgraceful that one of our major roads has been closed by an inch of snow.  There were zero signs of gritting activity and the temperatures are at warm enough that a light salt gritting should have cleared it in a few minutes.

I've been out, defrosted the bird bath and put out some bird food, that'll do for me.

You can eat mutton...just got to be cooked right thats all (Ha! Ha!)...helps if you are really hungry too with lots of ketchup and bread!

Probably costs alot to get rid of an animal carcass over threre with all the rules and such...just bury it...instant fertilizer.

I actually prefer mutton but I’m not about to slaughter and butcher a critter in my own kitchen am I? 😂
