Crusaders continue to pay huge bills from their days in Bridgend...

7 posts in this topic

Don't mean to be negative but this was reported by David Parker a couple of days ago:

On top of covering the wages of ex-coaches John Dixon, Anthony Seibold and Kevin Ellis, the club, now based in Wrexham, are set to foot the bill for the six overseas players that were deported last year.

Linky

I wish them well and really hope there's nothing in it but it makes you think, their fans were sold a pack of lies once...

What does lies have to do with it? Hardly surprising that the new owners took on the liabilities of the franchise, ive never seen them claim otherwise, so what lies are they telling?

I didn't mean they were lying now, I meant they had lied in the past regarding the certainty of the move to Newport, and also how sound the clubs financial plan was. Given that Mike Turner is still there is it really beyond the pale that they could do so again? Like I said not trying to be negative, I just worry for their off field fortunes. Out of interest why do they have to cover the wages of ex coaches?

Do you know what contracts are?

I didn't think the coaches were sacked though, I thought their contracts weren't renewed?

That's my understanding but there were also "issues" surrounding payments to players during their time at Bridgend so it is not beyond the realms of possibility that money is outstanding from back pay.

Mike turner is an employee for the club, the ownership has changed. They should be judged on their own merits. Contracts are contracts coaches or players, not sure what the difference is. Ask the FA about that.
