Perhaps a prolonged cold spell might push a few more winter clubs to consider the summer option?.....

The option on offer is March to early November with a gap for holidays in August. It's not a "summer" only option. It just misses out the weeks with really poor weather.

The Summer games all went ahead in that week. The game that should have been in Sheffield went ahead down the road in Chesterfield. In all the time I've been involved administering leagues in the summer we've lost one game to waterlogging.

Well Tim, if you had lived in the Hull area in June 2007, you'd have had to play water polo if you wanted an outdoor sport.

Below are all the NCL fixtures scheduled to take place tomorrow.

How possible is it for someone on these boards to speak to someone from each home club (or away club) to keep us all informed as to who is playing and who is not?

I'll highlight the games that are OFF in red as and when that information comes in.

That way people like myself will be able to take in a game wherever they are being played.

PREMIER

East Hull v Saddleworth Rangers

Leigh East v Siddal

Thatto Heath Crusaders v Wigan St Judes

West Hull v Leigh Miners Rangers

Wigan St Patrick's v Skirlaugh

York Acorn v Wath Brow Hornets

DIVISION 1:

Eccles v Castleford Panthers

Ince Rose Bridge v Oulton Raiders

Milford Marlins v Stanningley

Myton Warriors v Oldham St Annes

Normanton Knights v Millom

Widnes St Maries v Rochdale Mayfield

DIVISION 2:

Castleford Lock Lane v Waterhead

Crosfields v Hunslet Warriors

East Leeds v Egremont Rangers

Eastmoor Dragons v Heworth

Ovenden v Elland

West Bowling v Shaw Cross Sharks

I am also led to believe that a frozen field does not necessarily mean the game is off. If the field is flat (i.e. without rutts) then the game can be played. There is no difference to fields like this and fields in summer when sometimes they are like concrete.

Thatto Heath v Wigan St.Judes

Preliminary Pitch inspection at 9am by club officials at THC, with a local ref on stand by to come and make a decision if it is looking doubtful.

If it would have been today I think it would have been off and I don't think the forecast is any better for tonight.
