Sean Edwards, 26 year old racing driver whose father pulled Niki Lauda out of his burning car in 1976, dies on a racing track in Australia.

Edit: He wasn't driving and it was just a practice session. Very talented driver, by all accounts.

That's pretty tragic news. I always thought it was James Hunt that pulled Lauda out of his car?

Felix Dexter, comedian/comedy actor.

Myeloma is a terrible disease, I have a friend who has it - they can hold off the inevitable with marrow transplants and medication but it's relentless.

That's a real shame. Transformer is one of my favourite LPs and I still have the original vinyl copy. He did pretty well to last to that age given his lifestyle.

First thing eldest son and I have done is listen to Transformer, seems fitting Goodnight Ladies is the final track.

RIP Lou Reed - The Velvet Underground & Nico is one of my favourite albums.

Ironically, he might have passed away on "Sunday Morning".

Bert Evans, one of the few survivors of the Wormhoudt massacre in the SWW. To read about what men like him went through, and their incredible will to survive, is incredibly movng. Ordinary men who weren't famous, but we owe them an amazing amount.

The trouble with posting links to the Telegraph is that I've exceeded my monthly quota of articles on their site, thanks exclusively to their excellent Rugby League coverage.

So here's a link for other people in the same situation as me.
