My career in the NHS, R.I.P.

I walked out in the middle of a disciplinary meeting on Tuesday, throwing my ID at the manager & telling her to stick her 4 kin job.

01.07.84 - 11.12.12

& I'm glad xx

Does that mean somebody else is now on bleep 1673?

CMJ :(

Very sad news.

Two blows to the world of cricket with the deaths of two very different characters.

The brash, larger than life, Greig, a saffer who captained England, ruffled feathers and ditched his adopted country for Kerry Packer's cash.

CMJ, a knowledgeable journaliat and a real gentleman.

Both will be sadly missed, and both were too young when they died.

I'll miss CMJ trying to get a mobile phone signal on his hotel's TV remote.

I haven't listened to TMS for about ten years because neither of my last two motors has a radio that picks up long wave transmission.

I've tried that 603mw transmission but the reception is absolutely shocking in West Yorkshire.

I still miss it.

:(

One of the very best things about the DAB format is listening to TMS with no background noise.

I listen online. CMJ always brought a bit of gravitas to what could otherwise be quite schoolboyish broadcasts.

DAB filters out Geoff Boycott? That's genius!

I hadn't thought about that. Now I just have to work out how to get on the internet from my mobile phone.

Technophobe? Me? Never!
