What are the repayment terms on that?

Free curry dinners for all their executives until the agreement lapses.

Afaik they are now a much more diverse lender and have seen huge growth through their Vanquis Credit card operations.

Personally, i dont see any problem with Sl or clubs been sponsored by bookies, breweries , loan sharks etc as i feel the impact of these sponsors doesnt have a huge impact on the general demographic of rl supporters. I didnt start drinking tetleys or smoke regal due to sponsors!! At the present juncture, RL in general needs all the cash it can get and cannot afford to be selective when it comes to sponsors

Anyone who thinks Provident is a loan shark should report them here: https://www.gov.uk/report-loan-shark

After all, with all the full about Savile's victims not speaking out, it would be wrong not to take action now

Morally its wrong and its a shame any SL club feels it has to agree a sponsorship with such a firm. Sadly Bradford probably cant find another sponsor and the dealings from the last lot hasnt helped. If it helps Bradford short term then good. Personally I dont agree with it but then the whole Bradford fiasco from its beginning right up to this decision for me is wrong. But best of luck to the Bulls and hope it is the springboard for the club to be stable and run properly.

Companies making short term loans are no different to companies making longer term loan.

ARP comparisons are also meaningless for terms less than a year.

Anyway, good for the bulls they've got a sponsor.

Pre-cisely. If I could, I'd prefer something else.

But beggars can't be choosers - and that's the truth.

Nicely nutshelled.

no its not, no more than having a gambling sponsor, a drinks sponsor, a political sponsor like a trade union, a fizzy drink sponsor, a hamburger sponsor, a chemical company sponsor, a car company sponsor (cars kill thousands of people a year) etc etc.....

Any other sport: A club gets the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of the competition after a year of nearly going bust and now have their future much more secure and the year of termoil may be forgotten about and brighter times ahead for the club.

In RL: A club which shouldn't be in the league they are in have accepted a sponsorship deal which is morally wrong and I'd a terrible deal. They shouldn't of accepted it and shouldn't of been allowed to due to last season they had blah blah blah moan.

A club got a good sponsor half the posts shouldn't be negative. They're a business and make money, they arnt breaking the law so there's nothing wrong with it.

what is your view of the morality of companies such as probiz that specialise in tax avoidance schemes for the wealthy. I understand your club has had a connectioin with them. Featherstone Rovers whos supporters whine loud and long about 'morality' have probiz as a main sponsor. Yet there have been no pronouncements regarding 'morality' in connexion with this from these people.

Good to see good news for Bradford and their fans.

Well done to them and I'm pleased they've got such a good deal.

I never said I didn't like Bradford.

Yes you did.

You hate them because they voted for Keighley to be exterminated and obliterated in the 1990's.

Loans are not as yet compulsory I believe? Any business or person with cash in the bank is helping that bank invest in things far worse than some idiot borrowing money they don't have.

yeah its not people desperately trying to keep body and soul together being exploited by the kind of easy credit that put us in the pooper in the first place. nice to be superior. ###### (and don't complain about being abused, you dished you take it)

Exploited? Nobody forces anybody to use those companies.

I'm not convinced they or the wonga asses are loan sharks but i wonder what exactly the difference is. just the threat of violence? Seems peculiar to me. glad to hear this mob are diversifying from bradfords point of view as the daft interest loan industry will collapse at some point.

Why would I complain? I don't care.

I was raised in a very poor household with a mother who would rather starve than borrow money. I know all about being poor. But if you borrow money from a commercial loan company, don't whine about being charged for the trouble. (if you are poor all basics like rent and food money are provided)

nobody used to force kids up chimneys or miners down the pits, exploitation is gaining from the circumstances people find themselves in otherwise slavery would be the only thing to be called exploitation. its not a synonym for oppression

They are providing a service that folk have a choice to use. Folk also have a choice not to use it too.

I don't see a problem with that.

some people need to be protected from themselves, sad but true. i work for an autism charity with plenty of vulnerable people easily exploited by the unscrupulous and i dont see the problem with some easy peasy legislation just to take the edge off. usury has been curtailed or illegal many times for very good reasons and i rather have a bit of robust regulation then dog eat dog
