Rhinos squad numbers announced tomorrow

There could well be 1 or 2 season long loans, there could well be 1 month loans, there could well be a few on Dual Registration.

At no point has anyone said any different.

gav when the partnership was first announced i was dead against the idea full stop.i was slowly talked round to the idea and was assured at the time that no leeds players would come to our club on anything less than season long loans and if they werent season long loans then we wouldnt take them.i have trawled through the old messages trying to find the original conversation but either i cant see it or its been deleted but i can assure you this is what i was told at the time.

Whoever told you that was being rather mischievous then, if that is what they actually said.

Just a question Daz , which ever players we get will they train with us on a tues, thurs, fri night or will they still train with Leeds with them being full time and train through the day........and if they are with us is Jonny Wainhouse here to report back to Leeds on there training.......

Rick,

The Leeds players are currently in full time pre season training with Rhinos; they will join us in January and train Thurdays & Fridays with the rest of the squad.

Jonny is here in effect as a replacement for Mark Cass who will retain his match day duties only, but obviously it will ease the transission and integration of the Leeds players into the squad and provide some familiarity in new surroundings, Barry will be sitting down with the Leeds coaching staff weekly as part of the review process.

have checked again for the old postings but cant seem to find it bu this is taken from a piece on the hunslet website.

•The clubs coaching staff will have input into the selection process of which players will come to Hunslet as dual registration players. Our main aim will be for a small number of players on season long dual registrations to retain continuity.

sure it says season long there my eyes arent that bad.

My understanding is we will be getting players on season long DR who are less likely to be called back (i.e. only if leeds have injuries or suspensions which they can't cover from the remaining first team squad). I'm not suggesting you guys are wrong, that's just my own recollection. It makes sense really. Leeds are unlikely to fill an injury crisis with players from their U20's they are going to utilize their first team squad. From Hunslet's perspective, in my opinion, I would sooner risk us taking the likes of Liam Hood, who might go back but are of better quality than what we have, than take players from their U20's on guaranteed season long loans who are unlikely, for the next season or two anyway, to improve on what we have.

They will train as normal through the week with Leeds and then attend 2 out of the 3 sessions with Hunslet if Hunslet train 3 times. That's how it used to work.

We have always stated that it would be dual reg season long deals and I don't see what the issue is here? In any loan, dual reg agreement what ever you want to call it there is always going to be recall options, it's the nature of what a loan is (you loan someone something because you don't really need it at that time, you recall that loan when you do need it) WBA have just loaned Leeds Utd a player, I'm pretty sure that if they have an injury crisis they will have refusal to recall that player from Leeds to play for WBA, thats how it works,so what's the difference?

For me, instead off focusing on the the fact that a player might be here for a week, a month, or a season, we should be focusing on the fact that we are going to be getting players who will IMPROVE our squad and make us more competitive and could keep us up this season.

And again we are not alone in doing this EVERY club in our league apart from two are utilising dual reg players from a particular partner club, it's just the way the game is going, and taking away the Leeds factor, we have been luckier than most that we have, like it or not partnered with the best run club in the game and with the best youth set up in the game!

Let's just see how it pans out, if it works great, if it doesnt we review and make decisons based on that!

And let's not forget Barry has signed a squad of 27 contracted HUNSLET players he thinks will compete next season, regardless of any dual reg deals!

So support your club based on that!

At the end of the day Huns need to stop up in this league , no matter what it takes. Of course it would be great to have long season deals as what I took it to be, and I wanted, but so what , WE have to stop in this league no matter what it takes, If the Devil turned up in a Hawks shirt and promised us we would stop up I would take it. The four Leeds players from their squad is good deal for us,and they don't cost anything , this will only help us stop up, and if they are re-called to their first team squad ,well they must be good.

Simple fact is if Huns go down , I think we will be finished, and that means any club going down not only us. So lets get behind our club now.So What's the problem.

at last some common sence bite the bullet and work with HIST to keep the club viable and competative let the season get underway and hopefully the results on the field might show this partnership will work for the good of Hunslet Hawks

Correct, agree entirely with the last 2 posts. My only concern is with having no A team how do we keep everyone happy, 27 players + 4 duel reg = 31. Only 17 can play meaning 14 cant, even allowing for injuries, suspensions etc its gonna mean quite a few aint gettin game time. Will we loan these out to amatuer clubs to keep them match fit?

No because you can't play amateur if you have signed pro forms.

Don't see what all the fuss is about--- dual reg means dual reg, the named players can play for either club if required--- if they are not required they wont play.

Interesting to note that at present Hunslet have a bigger squad than the Rhinos.

blackbeard that is my point in a nutshell with the hunslet players.just supposing 1 of the players is liam hood as widely touted on here.now i know he's a class player but he comes does that mean luke haigh who in my opinion was one of the best players last year has to be benched but then if hood gets injured haighy gets the old oh well we need you now.

Reason for thy is simple frisky, we pay players as they play (win/lose money) and Leeds have to pay contracts worth up to 1.5 million quid, fewer players means more money spread across there squad.
