I have been sent an e mail about going to watch a game in France. That seems odd to me, when we can always rely on teh French to sell their own internationals. Surely the quarter finals/Ireland/Wales games would merit more publicity?

Interesting to see the England sponsors, which could I suppose be included in the general World Cup sponsorship debate.

I agree, but felt that your original post has nailed it. As Geordie Saint is running the World Cup you should p m him.

??? :D

I have been interacting with the RLWC 13 team via the facebook message system (they are very good at responding when questions or suggestions are of a worthwhile nature!). They've sent me posters to stick up around work etc. Good bunch in my opinion.

They did state this morning, they will open up all areas of stadiums if demand is there so nothing seems to be planned for the Upper North Stand at Cardiff other than spectators. Hope they can open it up... (I have suggested an option...!) Oh yeah, they are looking to highlight all sold out areas at all games over the course of the next week or so!

Anyone seen the new sponsors that have appeared on the site...:

Vivomed - Official Medical Equipment Supplier

Centurion - Official Training Equipment Supplier and Official Supplier of Match Officials Training & Leisure Wear

Arts Council England

http://www.englandrl.co.uk/article/33736/exclusive-first-peek-of-the England shirt launch oct 1 with squad announcement

Am i the only one who doesn't like the badge, Is there not one we could use that doesn't look like it's been taken off those England shirts you get at sports direct,

Surely there must be something with a little more history, does anyone know what was used for the first ever internationals by the northern union

That badge has been in use for several years now. It IS the England RL badge. Don't matter whether people like it or not. LEAVE THINGS ALONE!!!

I wonder why these new sponsors haven't been announced?  Surely the RLWC office should be shouting these from the roof tops? In fact, I've hardly had a tweet other than in the 'be there' mode from the RLWC twitter account in ages. But it's good to know about the posters.  I wouldn't have known they exist had you not mentioned them.  Honestly, even Sally Bolton, understudy to Maurice Lindsay, hasn't been able to get word out among die hard rugby league fans that there are posters available for people to request and stick up in useful places.

Understudy to Maurice Lindsay? Sorry, is it 1995 again?

Sally Bolton worked with Maurice Lindsay, as his deputy if you like, for the world cup back then.

Arts Council?  I don't remember that one being announced!  Or the other two for that matter.  I remember the online clothing company being announced (that's a subsidiary of DW Sports it seems) and A N Other, which wasn't any of the sponsors mentioned above but I can't remember off the top of my head which one it was.

I'm aware of that, but FFS she's nobody's understudy 18 years later....give her the credit she deserves for heading up some cracking initiatives in an economic climate that makes most events a tough sell especially when the majority of previous consumers are so bloody negative about the product!

how do the Sims brothers qualify for Fiji ?

Tariq's Wiki page says he qualifies through his mother. I assume the same for the rest of them.

Ashton played for Fiji in 2008

EDIT:

(Ashton) Sims was named in the Fiji squad for the 2008 Rugby League World Cup and was later confirmed for the final squad. He had only visited Fiji once in his life—for a holiday—but qualified to play for the country because his mother was born there. He was Fiji's starting second-rower for all four of their matches; Fiji qualified for the tournament's semi-final for the first time
