It wouldn't be RL without a rift here and there. They are almost compulsory.

The game is struggling for progress both in Italy and the United States and in both places there are rival, competing leagues. This is nonsense. The RLIF ought to investigate each country, determine which orgaisation is the best and designate them as the official representative for RL in their country.

The RLIF should use it's influence to try and get the rivals to combine for the good of the game, but, if not pick the best one and cut off all contacts with the other and ban the rest of the world's RL nations from playing aginst any of the non sanctioned organsations. There is no need to keep shooting ourselves in the foot.

The RLIF ordered the two parties in the US to meet and sort it out. Apparently meetings have been arranged only for the AMNRL (the 'official' body) to pull out each time.

The AMNRL probably know they hold all the aces at the moment as they have to provide a team for the World Cup but after that the RLIIF should get tough.

I won't hold my breath on that one keighley. The RLIF are the epitome of a toothless tiger.

If the RLIF want to force the issue then now is the only opportunity they'll have. Threaten the AMNRL with losing their place in the RLWC of they don't fix the situation.

They already did that last year, and what happened was a bunch of David Niu's mates flamed the RLIF on Twitter and then nothing further happened.

It's too close to the competiton now. The grounds have been allocated, the groups set up, tickets have ben purchased. Expulsion of the US team at this point would make the game a laughing stock just when the signs are pointing to a pretty successful oulook for the tournament.

However, post world cup, the RLIF can then threaten them with expulsion from the next one especially if they receive a share of any profits and it whets their appetite for further involvment.

The Canadians and the Jamaicans will both be more than willing to replace the US in the competition and the RLIF will then hold the aces and can put pressure on the AMRL and USRL to settle their differences.

The same goes for the Italians. The Lebanese, Russians and Serbs are all ready made replacements for then especially the Lebanese who can call on as many Australian hertiage players as can the Italians.

How bad will the USA team be without players from the other league which from what i hear is much stronger playing wise.

As for the RLIF sorting it out forget it.

CM

It is a crazy situation. Internationally they need all hand to the pumps.
