For the sake of everyone's sanity I hope Humberside's don't!

Radio Leeds are stuck so we do have the Humberside feed. They even read out my tweet! Songs played Road to Hell and We're on the Road to Nowhere.

Bulls got through, it was the west yorkshire contingent of Hull FC players who couldn't.

Some dopes on the Radio Humberside phone in, some expecting players to be there all day. They left in plenty of time, but these things happen. One in a million, or however many games of rugby there have been on these shores.

Absolutely, though if the team couldn't get through, I doubt many of their fans would have either

Just to be clear, the fans will have left much later when the diversions were in place. Few will have been aiming to get to the KC for 6pm. The Bradford team coach was able to arrive with just a delay for a similar reason. It is just an unfortunate coincidence that the accident occurred at the same time as the Hull players were on their way, so they were trapped by it and unable to get off the motorway. There is nothing anyone can do to avoid a situation like that.

According to twitter & other sources, it was a chemical tanker that went over and has resulted in a fatality. There is absolutely nothing that can be done in a situation like this. Any fatality arising on the highway network is treated as a crime scene and warrants full forensic investigation. Hence the closure till tomorrow. Some of the comments on local radio / rlfans are beyond the pale - Peter Gentle's fault / RFL's fault etc It would be a good gesture to hold a minutes silence before the game on Sunday.

The weather for Hull, according to the Metoffice, on sunday is 3c and sleet. The problem is getting there. Up to 4 inches is supposed to fall throughout the afternoon inland. We are at Cas and even that 15 mile journey might be tough.
