I'm not a betting fan,but I think Sky and RL miss a trick by not having a betting slot on match day - I would have thought it could open up a potentially new audience,if say Carney fronted a 3/4 min slot, covering say first try scorer, winning margin etcAnd it would be sponsored by one of the betting firms - just a thought.

I haven't searched around for best odds, but that pays just over 46/1 with bet365.

Longer term, I've had just one SL bet this year - Bradford at 7/4 for a top eight finish. Far from certain, but I felt the odds should have been a little shorter.

Maybe they can't. After all it's during half time in footy when Ray Winstone pops up. Perhaps they can't encourage gambling, unlike our Aussie friends, who can't seem to function without betting on something.

Gled's done well to disguise that accent.

Carney is no stranger to betting.

I remember the BBC TV build up to the 2005 RL Cup Final when Claire Balding interviewed him on the pitch prior to the game.

Balding....."Brian, if you were a betting man, who would your money be on this afternoon?"

Carney....."I am a betting man and I've had £50 on Hull."

:D

Have done.

Put it out on another RL forum, cough, splutter, and it seems my memory is spot on.

Dug the dvd out first so bog off.

Unfortunately, the first thing on it was the players being introduced to fat man Prescott, and I think it was before that.

Not sure when I heard it as obviously I was there on the day.

Leeds are -36 against Salford! That looks a bit much to me, regardless of Salford's current plight.
