We all knew their first team players would feature in our first team to regain their match fitness it was part if the agreement as mentioned at the meeting so not really surprising hopefully he will be on the bench to give the lads who played so well on Sat a chance to show their stuff again.

Look, if it was part of the deal then everyone will be aware of it! If we did not have a deal then we wouldn't have half the squad. normally we would be over the moon at having a player like Chris Bridge in a Lions shirt. It comes with the deal this year. Maybe his brother will move over?

Heard a rumour that Brian Bevan's grandson might turn out for the Lions soon.

Yawn...you lot are really getting boring now, any blame for the current system lies firmly at the feet of the RL certainly not Swinton or any other club who use the dual register system.

Every club had the opportunity to do the same some decided to some didn't...so what.!!!

hey every club was offered to merge with other clubs at the start of super league! it doesn't make it right does it?

No, but it obviously means it's immediately wrong....

Lets sort this out. Bridge is a SH or SO. Watson is our SH. it makes sense that Watson focuses on managing the team and they replace him with bridge. if we win this game it gives Watson a really good chance of becoming our manager in the long term. Bridge gets a run out and we get three points.

seems simple to me.

So you would turn down a chance to have Chris Bridge in your matchday squad? Cut the holier than thou bull no one believes a word if it. Some clubs in our division are at the moment in a mutch better place than us through no fault of our own, should we not take the olive branch when its offered just to make haters like you sleep better at night? In a word:NO

We are no more of a feeder club than we were before the only difference now is we source all our talent from Warrington, the lads we have signed have signed the same type of contracts that higson and Armstrong signed the other year.Plus the two other d/rs we will have from week to week. I see it this way: We now have access to the best young talent in England, the best training facilities in England and its saving the club money, in the short term its a no brainer

You could flip it on it's head and use the argument that we use Warrington to go out and source the talent then we get to use those players for a few matches in positions where they could be useful for us.

you could also say it makes a mockery of the league and will pi$$ off a lot of contracted players.by the way my own club is doing it and i don't like it one bit!!

Just playing Devil's advocate here but wasn't Warrington fiercely against dismantling their lower grade sides? There's a rumour going round that a certain SL club is strategically manipulating the DR system in order to quickly orchestrate its failure. If this is true where would that leave the SL club's subservient partner?

Ooh the mystery... as you are unable to name the teams involved, I will have to assume that, by posting on this board, you refer to Swinton as the 'subservient club'.

It would leave us in the same place as we are at the end of each season with no contracted players and a squad of 25 players to find.

It would hopefully leave us in the championship rather than the championship 1.

It would leave us financially similar to where we are now if not financially better off.

It is unlikely to see us as grand final winners .... And definitely will not allow us access to the super league for the following season.

The fans of these"4" bigger clubs are opposed to DR because;

1 they are fans of clubs that haven't got DR and support their clubs decision

2 they have had it their own way for a long time

One of the clubs most against DR is Barrow. A club who in recent years have cheated their way to success more than any

At least what we are doing is in the rules regardless of the moral standing on the actual principle of DR.

The reasons DR is good for Swinton

1 im a swinton fan and tend to support my clubs decision

2 we have faced more adversity than any club in rugby league yet still we remain. Its time we had a bit of help our way

This argument will rage all season

Ambiguous rumours like the one Terry quotes are not worth my attention.

And finally if DR is abandoned at the end of the year guess what wil happen?

The annual scramble for players will begin

Fev will sign all the best in Yorkshire with Halifax breaking the bank

Leigh will sign all the best in Lancashire and Sheffield will somehow sign a load of good players from the southern hemisphere again despite crowds on a par with ours

The rest of us will scratch around what's left. Hope to pick up a hidden gem from the amateur game or hope to pick off a super league academy star.

Now that system is fair...is it?

This is a bit like the competition that the sun runs I think its called dream team where you pretend to manage a team and you can chop and change your players until your happy with your squad and at the end of the season you lose your team and then start all over again lol this is becoming comical it really is becoming like fantasy rugby and in the end clubs will evetually fold and rugby league will be even worse than it is now.
