Brian Barwick interview.

Came over very well imo

Perhaps we now have a suitable captain to steer the ship!

Very impressed with Mr Barwick and all he had to say in the interview on tonights show

Also, have to say Eddie Hemmings did well and should stick to doing interviews instead of commentating. Lovely piece on Taylor Mail - he's a credit to his family.

I think it would be a good idea for kids who play or support rugby league to be in adverts for the WC and the game in general.

For those of us who don't have the luxury of sky sports or time to watch it could anyone summarise what he said in the interview?

Like the look of the guy. Great sense of humor but you can detect the determination and the steel underneath.

I'll stick my neck out and say he'll do well.

I'm hoping he can come up with some kind of solution for london broncos, such as providing significant investment for the club, cementing an effective strategy for the sport down south and also sort out a permanent home for us.

If he was involved FT, I would be more excited, but with him only working 6 days a week makes me sceptical. Also didn't believe that he went to watch Liverpool City for one second, nobody is that daft :-)

Yeah - only 6 days a week. What does he think it is - some sort of holiday camp? :D

Why didn't he see Liverpool City? Stop trying to find fault and get behind him and maybe we can drag RL into the modern era

If he and his contacts are the reason that there's an increase in RL pieces in newspapers or regulars slots on radio then he's doing fine by me.

Did I imagine Hemmings get gradually more and more scouse as the chat went on?

If you can't open the link, let me know and I'll copy a few quotes

The end of that linked interview is very positive."I can be very influential in getting people to take Rugby League seriously. Sometimes it's its own worst enemy because it's almost shy."My contacts book is an old-fashioned black book with two elastic bands around it and those bands are coming off on a regular basis already in the name of Rugby League."Twickenham is where I live and it works very well for Rugby League because it's 200 miles away. That gives me objectivity, although I can still use subjectivity when I need to. Also, I'm near some of the powerbrokers - the newspapers and the officials of government."

I thought they both did! Me and Mrs Rhino found it quite funny.

Finally got around to watching it last night. Very impressed with what he had to say. If he can turn his words into actions the game will be in very good hands indeed.
