WELCOME TO NRL 2013

... and our first tipping competition the new season

.

Hope you had an enjoyable few weeks rest!

Everyone reading this is welcome to enter the competition and the ones that follow each week throughout the 2013 season culminating in the Grand Final

which will be played on Sunday, 6th October at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

Whether you've taken part before or you fancy having a go this season for the first time you're guaranteed a warm welcome.

Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round

NB The first round's first game is on THURSDAY!!!

ROUND 1 QUESTIONS:

*Poll Competition:

Which Round 1 game will produce the biggest margin of victory?

- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

The poll is anonymous so we can't give you credit unless it is in your predictions post.

Now the main event of the week:

*Match tipping Competition:

Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 1 2013

*Points Competition

How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R1?

This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.

*HOME Win Competition:

How many HOME wins will there be in NRL R1 2013?

In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:

NRLRound12013_zps6fea9bfb.jpg

Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.

Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which will be pinned to the top of the forum topic list page

The best of luck to everyone.

Enjoy your Rugby League! B)

Roosters v Rabbitohs Bunnies will start at a higher tempo and should out muscle the Chooks

Broncos v Sea Eagles Ponies to use home advantage against a Seagulls side thats looking distinctly long toothed

Eels v Warriors The Kiwis should have a comfortable win against the Slipperies

Bulldogs v Cowboys This will be a good battle but Doggies home advantage will see them through despite BB not available for a while

Panthers v Raiders Not sure about these two, could go either way Slight advantage to Pussies

Storm v Dragons Another tough battle but Storm should ease through

Sharks v Titans Another close one but fancy Titans for this one

Knights v Tigers Bennys Boys in a much much better place than last season should win against the Tiggers who will struggle a bit till they get used to Micks systems of play and also having to cope with another tragedy!

After a slow start Bunnies stung into action after the Chooks score a slightly fortunate try, The commentors can't believe how big George Burgess is, wait till they see Tom,

Bunnies in control first half HT 16-4, They need to step up a notch 2nd half as the Chooks will get more physical!

A steady win for the Bunnies, nice to see George get a try, All the NRL Clubs with new Coachs will struggle the first few games though I expect Matty Elliot to be the first on to win in round 1

There, and I thought that Broncos were doing so well and most of us were on for another correct tip. But no, it was, as they say, a game of two halves and it was Manly who took the spoils with a deserved win on the day. Broncos ran out of steam while Sea eagles kicked on for the victory.

Well done RL Winger and Stoney 100, the only ones of us to tip Manly.

Doggies v Cowboys ... Scrappy first half. Cowboys got a lot of ball in 2nd half. When they did have ball they were short of both ideas and break-speed.

FT Dogs 12-24 Cowboys

Storm in good form on a red hot afternoon in Melbourne. A few too many handling errors will give Bellyache an opportunity to vent his spleen. A 30-10 strong win over Dragons though is a good start to the sea OK n given the weather and the amount of travelling they've done in the last couple of weeks. Good to see there's yet another blend of tough Storm forwards. Man of match: Cooper Cronk.

1st half in the sun - 2nd half overcast

Wasn't bad just a tad humid & most of the time there's a breeze blowing through our end of Aami Park.

And the team playing in that weather is a small taste of Townsville for next week

U20's also got a great 1st hit out !! then we got to see these two little trophies before the main event.

Crowd figures disappointing  but lot's went to the Moomba events close by or a music festival,(people bought tickets months ago).
