The Future is League

If only Super League had a SBW

Hopefully he sticks around for the World Cup... He would naturally draw some very welcomed extra interest to the tournament. Would go a long way to helping sell out either the NZ or Samoa (depending which nation he picks) games in the tournament, and get more people writing and watching the event.

Just to be clear, we did. The RFL completely ignored all their quota rules just so the game could benefit from the increased revenues from having Willie Mason in Super League.

They are - Willie seems to have gone back to basics and is going ok over there.

It was different, but I remember the days when the game would sign union players, some of whom would really put bums on seats (many of whom were rubbish of course). I know that the economics are against that these days, but I was always attracted to Brian Noble's suggestion that clubs be allowed a single marquee player who would fall outside the cap. Given the deep pockets of many of our clubs' owners, that could be interesting. It's the only way we'd have an equivalent splash.
