Knights v Workington

111 posts in this topic

So its a tough Cumbrian test for the Knights this week, at home to Workington. Send us your thoughts on the game and you could feature in the matchday magazine!

Who should play?

How should we play?

What do you think will happen?

Any good York v Workington memories?

Keep your eyes peeled for some special offers for all you York City fans, plus a Mothers Day hospitality special!

Lovely stuff... :D

City Fans and Mothers Day special offer!

After listening to feedback and suggestions from our fans on facebook, twitter and the forum after the Halifax game, York City Knights are offering our football supporting friends at York City a very special deal for our eagerly anticipated match against Cumbrian side Workington Town at the Huntington Stadium this Sunday...

:D

Several years ago this forum and Town's forum was often filled with a lot of friendly banter, even when York stuffed us 70 - 10 in a play-off game it was still good natured and that's how it should be. I think the soccer fan influence has to some extent spoiled that and we now get far too much nastiness in many posts. How is my old sparring partner JohnB doing these days?

Its been more than a month (by one day) since we took him on loan so yeah, they can now recall him at any time.

how many hullites are you currently using in your team folks?

Either 4 or 5, depending on form/fitness.

Last call for any programme comments! I'm sending it to the printers and could do with one more piece of solid gold punditry if possible...

One of the best memories of recent games v Town was when we beat them 70 - 10 and Rhodes waving to the Town halfback as he went under the sticks and another was April 1971 we beat them 32- 0 a few hours before I had got wed and I took my new bride to the game, best day of my life, 32 nil.

Yeh that was a nightmare game for us Town fans, we would rather remember the season after when we spoiled your big promotion party. :D

That bollocking was on the tellybox if I remember rightly - same programme feat Lloydy's inspirational speech when he played for the Dragons season after he left York.

Just watch having said that we'll probably get him again on Sunday.

I wouldn't complain if so, he was superb against Halifax!
