Does seem to bear a grudge against us doesn't he. likewise millward in his tipping column on sporting life. Always talks us down and very rarely tips us to win, no matter who were playing.

Think tomorrow is potentially a big banana skin. Hopefully we can come away with the 2 pts and move up the league.

With the greatest of respect, I'm not sure Bradford are quite good enough in comparison to be treating Widnes as a banana skin! I suspect it'll be a close, hard game that could go either way. Prior to last week I'd really have fancied our chances at home.

Usually I'd treat grudges as nonsense but it does seem odd that he would tip a big win for Widnes after Bradford put in one of the most impressive performances of the season, smashing the early leaders on their patch.

no great loss he would only get outplayed by paddy flynn once again...

I'd suggest it may well be the difference tonight - his goal kicking alone has been - and will be - a massive boost for us this year

Particularly so if it means another merry-go-round of team changes. We shouldn't forget that Foster is usually the one to fill in at fullback when Kearney moves forward.

Big loss IMO.

taking account of our existing injury list, it could make all the difference tonight.

It will, but at the moment I fancy we're playing quite well down the middle and scoring a good proportion of tries there - meaning that kicks will be easier for his replacement.

I assume Sammut will take them, unless Gale springs a surprise and gets back early.

This worries me as we have looked like we lack a bit of size up-front at times this year.

I was going to suppose that it might continue against Widnes (assuming that we play well enough, of course), but I've not really taken enough notice of them so far this year to be confident in that.

We're certainly a different beast and apart from the first half at Hull KR have made teams work for their tries unlike last year. However, like I said one area that worries me is up-front. Some teams have made comfortably more yards than we have and I think we look very light when Cross and O'Carroll go off. Fortunately defence in our own 20 has been excellent but there is only so long you can hold out against big sides.

With field position we look like scoring. I think tonight could end up being a real good game.

No chance, he was sat next to me at the do last night and he's about 3-4 weeks away, seeing the specialist today.

I assumed not and he wasn't named in the squad, but sometimes these things occur out of the blue.

Have widnes improved as some on here think, I'm not so sure..... How good a the bulls, I think they've too much power in the forwards and fancy them to win

Widnes 24 bulls 34

Look forward to VW comments and the further comments on the crowd

There is no doubt Widnes have improved. It took us something like 16 games to concede less than 30 last year. We've managed that 3 times out of 4 games so far.

Ok in conceding that's an improvement...... What about in the terms of like for like results on last year?

Have you gained more points this time?

It'll be a good game this. I really liked the look of Widnes last week, and think they'll shade it, ESP with Foster missing. It's just a shame that Max Dec doesn't post on here any more. I'd have been really interested in hearing his view on this.

Finally, it won't be long before the Cheshire derbies are properly competitive again, if Widnes continue their upwards trajectory.

We hadnt won yet. In 4 games we've picked up 1 more win than equivalents last year.

Cheers, it's good your back posting........ Always a thoughtful poster.... I do hope widnes climb upwards and challenge, it reminds me of the good old days, just hope you don't over take us, but to be fair we've had a good few years and others do deserve some success.

Enjoy.

Either this is sarcastic due to my over-posting or I'm invisible to some people on here!

We're not gonna be world beaters but we're a lot different than last year. That's more based on performance than result tbh we just don't look nearly as shaky.
