Just been reminded of a festival I went to in 2006. Absolute bargain at £40 for the weekend and good time had by all - kids included

http://www.acousticfestival.co.uk/video.html

see the poster on the link for the artists - spent all weekend front row sat on deckchairs or blankets as hardly anyone there

Looks like a cracking weekend.

Festivals (1 day or more) that I have been to are:

1988 Donington Monsters of Rock

1992 Donington Monsters of Rock

1993 Nowhere Else To Roam - Metallica, Milton Keynes Bowl

1999 Big Day Out, Milton Keynes

2004 Download, Donington (Sunday only)

2007 Bulldog Bash, was working on a stall at this one, so didn't really see much.

That was a fantastic line-up. Bradford is reviving its Festival week this summer, after a gap of several years. The line-up of bands won't be anywhere near as good, but great news anyway.

The best festivals I've been to have been the little ones that Maggs describes. £30-40 a ticket, weekend camping somewhere nice, everyone mingling between campfires, good music, ale and company.

Lil bro loves the name festivals like V Fest, Leeds Fest. I can't think I'd enjoy them at all, too busy, stinky, damp, and no bogs to stand half a mile away from a band you can actually watch on bbc red button now. Live music is one thing I'm not all that fussed by, only been to a handful of gigs, but chuck in awful camping then no thanks.

Would like to go to a Festival but apart from Glastonbury they seem to be hang outs for people who think they are too cool for school. I agree about live music, although sonetimes the bands ruin their own songs by overplaying them.

Going to the New Orleans Jazz festival in May.It will be my fifth time but the first for ten years.

It will be interesting to see how the city has changed since Katrina.
