Coaching vacancies

All the speculation about who will get the gig at Salford is revolving around big name Aussies with Brian Noble also getting a few mentions.

What do the likes of Darryl Powell and Mark Aston have to do to be considered for a shot at the big time?

Surely part of the role of the Championship is personal development. That must go for coaches as well as players and those two have consistently produced winning teams.

Why would you want to be coach when you can be coach and chief executive too ? Job security is important to some folk.

Depends where your prorities lie, which a different to different individuals. Tubby is doing a good job at the Eagles, and if he's happy there, great for them.

Aston's found his level and there's nowt wrong with that!

He's done a good job at Sheffield and I'm guessing that he knows which side his breads buttered on.

I think the job security thing is an important one. We have seen that it is pretty easy to be sacked at SL level, expectations are high (often unreasonable imho).

If you are earning a good living and are happy at somewhere then it is a big move to take a SL job, as there aren't an abundance of jobs to fall back on if it goes wrong.

May sound unambitious, but then people have their own challenges in each role.

If you are reading this Dr KashKard, Darryl Powell is useless, steer well clear ;)
