WELCOME TO NRL Round 3

... our third tipping competition the season.

.

So we now know that some Round 1 results flattered one or two of the winning sides. Round 2 perhaps provided us tipsters with a clearer picture of relative team strengths. We'll put that to the test though when we commit to our Round 3 predictions!

Everyone reading this is welcome to enter this weekly competition which runs throughout the season.

Whether you've taken part before or you fancy having a go this season for the first time you're guaranteed a warm welcome.

Entries are allowed each week up until the kick off of the first game in the round

NB This round's first game is again on THURSDAY!!!

ROUND 3 QUESTIONS:

*Poll Competition:

How many teams altogether will score 30 points or more in NRL Round 3?

- enter in the poll itself at the top and put your answer in your posting.

The poll is anonymous so we can't give you credit unless it is in your predictions post.

Now the main event of the week:

*Match tipping Competition:

Name the 8 (that's EIGHT) winning teams in NRL Round 3 2013

*Points Competition

How many points will be scored by all the teams added together in R3?

This is a competition in itself and will act as a tie breaker for the match tipping comp if necessary. This is used as the decider when necessary so do give it a go.

*HOME Win Competition:

How many HOME wins will there be in NRL R3?

In rounds where the game is on the road and played at a neutral venue, the team named first in the fixture will be regarded as the home team for the purposes of this competition.

Fixtures:

Animated awards will be given for the winner(s) of each competition question.

Match tipping scores will be added together as the season progresses to produce a Tipsters' Ladder which is pinned to the top of the forum topic list page

The best of luck to everyone.

Enjoy your Rugby League! B)

Storm V Bulldogs. Another tough game on a short turn round (I bet Storm were a bit envious of the Bunnies 11 day break!) Doggies still underdone but it won't be easy for Storm to prevail but they should!

Tigers v Eels. A tough one to call but Tigers looked a bit better in attack last match whereas as Eels struggled near the try line, Tigers to ease this one

Titans v Sea Eagles. The Seagulls have certainly stepped up early doors and could win this tussle against the Titans also showing good form, Seagulls to shade it

Roosters v Broncos. Both teams struggling with early form home advantage to prevail for the Chooks!

Sharks v Warriors. The off field saga is not helping the Sharks and despite the expected heroics from Gallen I think the Kiwis will take this one (now Fanagen has been reinstated that will change the focus of the players so gong for a home win now)

Panthers v Rabbitohs. I expect the Bunnies will be playing as we expect after the butt kicking from Madge after the last match. Panthers won't be a pushover a tough match going to the Bunnies.

Raiders v Dragons. Two Teams struggling to fine some early season form St Jarge to shade this one

Knights v Cowboys. I doubt the Knights will have recovered from the on field derriere kicking by Manly whereas the Cowboys are still looking for Storms 3 card trick but will find some magic of their own to win this one!

 And I was 'alcohol free' for that game

Developed a massive hatred for 'deep throat' the video ref who's voice was quite distinctive on the sports ears & seemed to have a "It's all about me & what I think" agenda

We don't get the video refs musings on the TV coverage. We do get it on the UK Championship game each Thursday night.

The video ref surprised me over disallowing the apparent try by Cooper Cronk. When he disallowed that for a technical obstruction by a player under the sticks that had no bearing on what went on three or four players away. Maybe the rule he should be looked at again or am I just biased?

NRL say Billy Slater incident has been reviewed and no action is needed. He was in the air competing for the ball and there was no intention to harm opponent.

Half time at Tigers v Eels.

18 - 0 to Tigers.

Fair number of mistakes.

Eels mucked up a try opportunity just before half time.
