Where did they get that yellow ball from? I noticed that Warrington played with a regular match ball, thought it was a bit weird!

Isn't that a bit naughty?

Needs must probably. It's alright, by all accounts no-one was watching.

:D Good point!

It was needed at Warrington too - I'd like to think Rhino had no issue with it, but I do think we should be serious about our responsibility to sponsors.

When it's snowy Rhino have bright blue balls...

that's why they didn't play against Wakefield.

Ah thank you.

I bet that game was a real culture shock for Liam Foran, only being in the country a few weeks.

I guess it serves Rhino right for not being up to speed on snowy balls.

Suppose it depends whether we ordered any, summer sport and all that!

Under the deal with Rhino, I'm led to believe that the clubs have to purchase their balls rather than receive a certain number of complimentary ones. They aren't going to spend money on fluorescent balls at the start of the season.

On the subject of balls, there was also an issue pre-season. The clubs received the training balls and spent a few months practicing with kicking specialists. They they took delivery of the match balls which were a completely different size and shape. The kickers found the flight of the ball to be totally alien to what they had gotten used to, so had to start all over again.

It's crazy to think that Steeden hold the contact for international games, and as such during the WC the England size will be playing with a different ball to that we have used in our domestic game, once again handing Aus and NZ an advantage before we've even taken to the field. It may sound OTT but moreso at international level, the importance of the kicking game can't be underestimated.

Having watched the replay, poor decision to award the 1st Salford try, there were 2 players well in front of the kicker who were only around 1m in front of Wellens when Jordan James caught the ball. Try should have been disallowed for offside.

Makes you wonnder exactly what the linesmen actually look at and do !
