MotoGP 2013

The 2013 MotoGP season is almost upon us!

Valentino Rossi's on a rideable bike again, and the Tech3 team has two British riders in Cal Crutchlow and Bradley Smith.

And snot-nosed upstart Marc Marquez has a whole new grid of people to annoy. I get the feeling this could be an excellent season.

They are all midgets. I doubt if anyone of over twelve stone could win it.

Bradley Smith had to move up as he was too tall. Pedrosa loses out because he is too small.

Looking forward to the new season, some interesting pairings at teams as well.

Remember when Rossi was riding in the 125cc class? Hilarious - elbows and knees sticking out all over the place.

Looks like the BBC's coverage has been expanded to include practice sessions, as they will dictate which qualifying group a rider is in, under the new system.

Oh, and there's another Brit involved - Michael Laverty will be racing one of the Paul Bird Motorsport Aprilia-engined CRT bikes, with teammate Yonny Hernandez.

What a pleasure to see Rossi back where he belongs!

Marquez is going to be some rider.

"going to be"? ;) Unbelievable performance - Pedrosa must be wondering if his best ever chance at a title may be mugged by the pup.

A good 4th for Cal, at a circuit that favoured the Hondas' top speed and where all the other top riders had had pre-season testing experience.

You have to feel sorry for Dani, just when he thinks he is top dog along comes a 20 year old upstart.

Marquez seems to be a natural on the bike, very Rossi like. Who is missing Stonier not me!

Cal should get a factory ride soon, to finish 4th behind the factory bikes on last year's technology is some ride.

Other circuits won't favour the Honda's superior top speed, but they look like their handling is on a par with Yamaha this season too. It's going to be tough for all the Yamaha riders this year.

Marquez won't make friends riding like that!

Glad Danni has finish top of the pile for once

Didn't take SuperMaq long to get up someone's nose, did it? Like I said, this could be an excellent season. :D

Looks like the last MotoGP season I'll see for the foreseeable future too. As if I didn't hate BT enough already.

Indeed. Cal riding with a broken bone in his leg AND internal bleeding - it was pretty nerve-wracking, hoping he'd stay on the bike in those conditions.

BTW, 1 (one) small paragraph in today's Metro. That's even less than Rugby League!

Forgot to mention, another podium for Cal Crutchlow, which is good stuff.

And Jorge Lorenzo finished fifth, less than 48 hours after having his collarbone screwed and plated together. With a modern racing bike, hitting the brakes at the end of a straight has been likened to performing a handstand, so Lorenzo's one tough little devil.

I noticed Lorenzo couldn't get off the bike at the end and had to be wheeled in to the garage.

Really hope Scott Redding carries on and become World Champ.

Jorge was in a really bad way by the end. I think Moto2 will be very closely fought. I hope Scott Redding can do it, but it'll be tough.

Shame it wasn't Yamaha. I think Cal could make it work. Wonder how that will go with Dovi?

Having a works Ducati ride for two years isn't going to do anyone's career any harm, and if they managed to make the bike competitive....
