Four Super League players charged

Four Super League players have been charged with committing offences during the Easter Bank Holiday programme of matches.

Travis Burns of Hull Kingston Rovers has been charged with making a Grade B high tackle in the 30th minute of the Super League Round 9 fixture against Hull FC on Good Friday.

Eorl Crabtree of Huddersfield Giants has been charged with making a Grade B dangerous throw in the 43rd minute of the Round 9 fixture at Salford City Reds on Good Friday.

Ryan Bailey of Leeds Rhinos has been charged with two offences during the Round 10 fixture at Catalan Dragons on Easter Monday: Grade C striking with hand, arm or shoulder in the 15th minute and Grade B striking with hand, arm or shoulder in the 48thminute.

Justin Carney of Castleford Tigers has been charged with making a Grade C dangerous throw in the 29th minute of the Round 10 fixture at St Helens.

Crabtree and Bailey (for the Grade C offence) have until 11.00am on Wednesday (April 3) to submit Early Guilty Pleas. Burns, Carney and Bailey (for the Grade B offence) will appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday evening.

All four players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel, which also issued formal cautions to the following players:

  • Elliott Whitehead (Bradford Bulls) – dangerous throw v Leeds in the 71st minute (Round 9)
  • Chris Annakin (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats) – dangerous throw v Hull FC in the 47th minute (Round 10)
  • Justin Poore (Wakefield Trinity Wildcats) – dangerous throw v Hull FC in the 47th minute (Round 10).
