Absolutely . People in the super league ' bubble ' need to realise there are top notch players outside that comp , and many who are comfortable in their environment for a variety of reasons . SL isn't rugby league , although Sky seem to perpetuate that myth a fair bit .

I know this as have watched Championship rugby for many years for Widnes. Some better talent than Superleague and if got a good job like a doctor, teacher etc they stay in the Championship.Briscoe will be gone after his contract this year as got Phelps,Hanbury and Jack Owens available in front of him.Anyway how can you say unless watch Briscoe and has hardly played to judge.

Who says he has to play fullback?  I remember us signing Paul Cook (the Huddersfield/Leeds one) a few years back and he went well at halfback. We could do with a bit of zip at centre...just a thought.

Shaun Briscoe is frustrated not to be playing and wanted to go on dual to Workington. But your club did not want him. That is a surprise as he is a quality player. He must be world class your fullback.

That is exactly what DR shouldn't be for. Carter is an excellent full back and a committed and popular Town player. Why on earth would we drop him so Briscoe can get a few games under his belt. If he was injured then fair enough but touch wood he isn't.

If Briscoe can play half back ( and OK maybe centre then) there may be half a chance.

Yes you never turn good players away but only if they fit in where you need strengthening and improving . I don't think Briscoe is the answer anywhere in our backline personally at this stage of his career , stick to bringing in fresher younger talent if you need it as we have in the last couple of seasons and they've all done well

agree 100%, briscoe was a good player a few years back but he dosent offer anything our boys do. bretts return play and step into the line trumps briscoe everytime.as for playing him in another position, why? hes not a centre and never has been so why fit square pegs into round holes when we have specialist centres out there

I seem to remember Hepi playing all his rugby at centre til we switched him to loose forward and i think he did ok !   Watkins, Hardaker etc.

I wouldn't have him over Miller or Carter but a player of his quality could be useful in a position which isn't our strongest.

Why even discuss centre we have mossop Connor ginge Patrick already fighting for those places with Hulme on dr if required to say the least

If Connors future is in the halves , and Hulme isn't under our control , it doesn't look the most potent in attacking terms then .

We could do with an injection of real line breaking pace and threat out there . Getting its something else - Troy Savage was very tasty in that role .Rooney was in the warm up a couple of weeks ago ,

is he near a return then ?

If Calders is missing then and he is available I'd have Hulme in the centres for the foreseeable future and Mossop on the wing with

Connor shifted infield to get more involved , show his quality properly and control our kicking game .

I wonder if we have relented and taken Briscoe for this game ? Brett Carter has tweeted that he isn't playing on Sunday, says he's fit to play but hasn't been selected !

Well with carter not playing I would put miller full back hulme on one wing if he's available and Patrick on the over wing

Carter has put out teasing tweets before hasn't he ?! Seems a bit (very ) fishy!!! I somehow think he may squeeze into our team.

i would take bretts tweets with a pinch of salt, if hes not playing it will because of injury, why would we not select him?
