England to win and absolutely immense and hard thought final by less that 6 points. Could you imagine the moaning from the Aussies if that happened??

Also for a few players to become personalities as some of the Olympians did. There are enough characters in the games to do it. Charnley and Hardaker being just 2.

Agree with Markleeds

Nailbiting final with a late England win.

There really is no finer sight than the look on the face of a defeated Aussie.

Get some household names again for the sport

Oh and the smaller home nations to give a good account of themselves and help spread the word around the country.

A final v Aus. We can beat Aus infront of a full house at old trafford.

England winning every match

Wales winning in Cardiff and the welsh public getting behind their country all the way to Wembley.

The media realising what a great game RL is.

All the people on forums claiming to have bought tickets to actually turn up. Full stadiums for the big games is crucial to promote the sport to non believers.

Good competitive games

Good Crowds

Invisible Refs that make no decisions that decide any games outcome.

England V Oz in a sold out Final.

Quality open style final with a few tries scored with broken field running.

England to win the Final in a game that is decided in the last 5 minutes.

If England beat Oz in the opener the the Aussies could play the Kiwis in the semi, like 1995.

It would be brilliant for this to happen and for nz to pull another big performance out of the bag at Wembley.

An Eng v NZ would be brilliant and hopefully remove the element of predictability for future tournaments.

Agree with other peoples thoughts on crowds etc.

My hopes;

Crowds

1 - Sell outs for the "big 3", average of 80% altogether

2 - Record attendances for internationals games in Ireland, Wales (exc mill.stadium) and France

3 - Bristol to sell over 60% of tickets

Results

1 - England to beat Aus in opener (a real possibility - we always do better in the first game)

2 - NZ to beat Aus in Semi

3 - England to beat NZ in final, obviously

4 - Ireland to lose by less than 50 to Aus in Ireland, make QF's

5 - Wales to win at Millenium, give a good account in QF's (but don't get lucky and beat NZ!)

6 - France to come second in group

Teams

1 - Italy to have a minimum of 25% home grown players in squad - at least 50% with italian sounding names!!

2 - Wales to get the services of the Evans brothers, and have the strongest team without picking mercenaries

3 - England to put out strongest, most established team for opener against Aus and then mix it up for the rest of the games through to Semi's - all players to get at least 1 start in their club positions.

TV + Newspaper coverage

1 - At least all Home nation games on BBC/ITV, as well as QF's - Final

2 - Have all teams appearing at least once on BBC

3 - All rest of games be broadcast on whoever is the highest bidder

4 - Have an average UK TV audience of 2m per game, regardless of what channel broadcast - total UK tv audience - 56m.  England should get at least 4m per game, with semi's/finals getting over 6m.

5 - Front and back page spread at most major papers should England win

6 - Inverdale no where near it

7 - No comparisons to RUWC

Legacy

1 - Increased coverage of domestic game

2 - Increase in sponsorship at all levels of game

3 - Toulouse in SL - help France build for next WC

4 - All players to get MBE if we win, if not then key/retiring players to get MBE

5 - Sinfield, Morley etc... to retire and next generation starts to be built up for 2017 WC

Think thats it....

1. England to win the RWC.

2. The newspapers to realise that a player doesn't have to switch codes to have his existence acknowledged.

3. All nations to perform heroics, win or lose.

4. Club-only fans to get enthused by the international game.

5. Someone other than Tim Sheens to pick the referee for matches involving Australia.

6. A cracking opening ceremony, enjoyed by all.

7. Good attendances and atmosphere, culminating in a final that just blows everyone away, whether they be established Rugby League fan or civilian.

8. Increased tournament income and more sponsorship for the game in general coming off the back of the event's credibility.

9. A good chunk of the profits to go towards international development, especially in the South Sea Island nations.

10. Every single player to leave the tournament with the same number of testicles that they had when they arrived. ;)

England winning would do me - which is possible if the players can overcome the psychological block they appear to have about Australia. Oh, and if Futtock's point (5) is achievable

I hope Tim Sheens steps down as Coach before the World Cup he is well passed his use by date in most Aussies fans opinions.

Give Bellamy a go as National Coach

England to beat France 25-24 in a packed out final.

Would love England to win and the final to be packed out, but only beating France by a point - time for McNamara to go, what is wrong with our game, bring back GB...I can see it now!

Those fans in RL who won't even consider giving the World Cup a chance to change their mind, if only a little bit.

 :D

The French will have gained a new-found respect having dumped out the Aussies 36-10 in the SF.

England beat Australia by 50 points to nil, are all knighted and become national heroes - RL fans opine that the game is a farce, a joke, all Nigel's fault and it signifies the death of international Rugby League. ;)

Clement would have turned off after 10 minutes.
