video refereeing

More and more we are seeing the video refs being used to make decisions to help officials on the pitch as seen in the saints game tonight. I support this but surely there is more and more an argument for video refs at all games not just TV matches

i agree, it should be used in every super league game at least.

Difference is, Sky have a minimum of 12 cameras at the game. Leeds run their own screen with the game being shown as its being played and replays of tries and incidents. We have 4 cameras which won't be cheap and there's no way that would be enough to get a definite answer on some decisions. We are probably the richest club in the league too. How would the likes of Cas be able to fund this?

Good point harrigan so what do we do? 2 refs? It's not right that tv games get the best technology when other games are equally important so should we scrap video refs? Goal line technology is being introduced into football and Im certain it won't be exclusive to tv games so why should rugby be different

The contest is fair to both teams playing each time. It's better for us to have improvements at some games than none.

I also think it might be equal the amount of times a try is ruled out than awarded, so while the video ref gets the correct decision, compared to a non-video ref game I doubt they'd be much difference. i.e finger tip control or foot in touch.
