Knights draw Catalan away in the Tetley's Challenge Cup 5th Rd.

York City Knights have drawn Catalan Dragons away in the Tetley's Challenge Cup 5th Rd.

The Knights reached the last 16 after a thrilling 30-28 victory at home to Toulouse yesterday, and are now set to face the Dragons on the weekend of 11/12 May. Details will be confirmed ASAP.

What do you think to the draw?

:D

In all seriousness it was shocking the way the draw was completed.

No wonder there is a lot of complaining going on about it.

On radio they said they were using 2 bags or was I hearing things, home and away, if so it seems a bit odd.

Its a great draw, Catalan get decent crowds at every game, cup or league, and York get half the gate!

I'm buzzing!

Double edged sword this one. I agree with Gav about the proceeds as Catalans get good crowds down there - as for the Knights fans etc, it'll be expensive to do the trip.

Agree Gav. They averaged over 9,300 for home games last season. Should be a good experience for players and fans alike.

Had a look at flights - might be missing the obvious, but difficult when & wherever you may fly to & from..

Think it's more the fact it's away Gav. Can't see many away fans.

I'm buzzing!

Nice weekend away for the players and staff, hopefully a few fans, and maybe a bit of cash but not the draw we wanted

Great weekend away. I did it last year for Sheffield Eagles. Jet 2 to Barca , hire car, hard drive up to Perp, few beers around the stadium and a cheap hotel. Away promptly back to Barca for the return flight . Back in England for 4pm Sunday.

Fantastic ground and supporters - Perpignan quite a charming town.

Go for it and enjoy it.

Thanks for that - really fancy the trip if the finances allowed for it

Yes it's a nice place to go Perpignan, drove down a few times to South of France, would be another good trip but need to spend a few days to go down there and return would be worth it if you get a small number to go by road, work out a lot cheaper than a flight.

don't think the half gate rule doesn't apply for French games

What's the prospects for Radio York covering the game Andy?

Then the RFL will have to compensate. York will get a good payout ontop of the prize money, and I can't see it being up to the club to fork out for travel & accomodation. I think its a decent draw tbh

From the clubs point of view,i would think its a great draw. From a fans point of view (well mine anyway),think its a bloody nightmare.I cant justify forking out all that money to go to the south of France, for what would be a return trip.As much as i would love to go to the game, simply cant afford it.Just hope Andy acko and radio york will be there.

In the meantime onto more important things.Hunslet away this sunday.17 players fully focused on getting that first away league  win under our belt. Its about time we put one over the Hawks.
