TIM THE LION

Lee Briers

I enjoyed the entertainment from two committed teams and am delighted with the win.  Ainscough and Smith also put in very good performances along with Hawkyard and we created a couple of lovely tries.  Well done to all at the Club onwards and upwards I trust.

Ainscough should never be left out. He is class and probably our most consistent player

A Whitehaven fan was giving him and penny stick just before that superlative break which saw them interpass to put Sarsfield in . Possibly try of the season

What a game to put before the tv cameras! Thought at times we showed what we have been missing. Jack Cooper will be dynamic when fully fit, Sarsfield grafted all game and was impressive, good stint from Harvey, both Hawkyards on their game, quick ball out to the three quarters to use their pace and it didnt all go through 1 man.......however.......big thanks to Lee Briers who never stopped shouting all game, some cracking kicks and treated us to one of his specials!

Well done also to the Whitehaven players and fans who made it such a good game. If only we could get a crowd of 1400+ every game!

Thanks as well to all the young men and ladies for the half time entertainment whos parents also boosted the crowd considerably!

.......and what a way to finish a match!!!!!!

Oh and sorry Lee, you didnt look fully fit. You need a few more games in royal blue before you can step up to super league level! ;-)

I totally agree with comments from Loyalion and Mark Richardson - thought Briers showed some lovely touches especially with the Hawkyards running off him, at one point mid way in the second half I thought Whitehaven would cut lose - but the team responded well. Still want to see Ainscough in the stand off position though.........

When we spoke to Lee after the game he said he had enjoyed the match and commented how fast it was. He had no second thoughts when Tony Smith and Gary Chambers had asked him to play and said if they wanted him to play again he would if needed in his attempt to win his place back in the first team squad.

Just shows what happens when you promote a game properly and offer discounted tickets and hospitality.Well done the club.

.Agree, but don't forget they probably reduced it to £5 mainly because of the fee from TV.

Pity we can't have more well sold discounts like this which surely can only benefit all concerned

Letting kids in for a quid permenently  would be a good idea, after all they will be the supporters of the future.

Julian Kids only pay £1 anyway if they get the tickets in advance.
