So, just over a month after our 18 all draw at Headingley and here we are again. It's 4th v 6th but Leeds are in the better form, not losing in 7 and winning 5 in a row.

The Bulls are having a good season, but apart from the draw against us, arent really competing with the top of the table. They are averaging 26 points a game but are conceding 22.

Leeds on the other hand also average 26 but defensively are much better. We only concede on average, 14.

This though, doesnt take into account the real story. Recently (since the Bulls game) we have seemed to get better week after week. If this was any one but Bradford, I would suggest a good win, but they raise their game for us and it means a hell of a lot to them. Look at the draw they snatched in the preseason game for proof of that.

I can see this being close for 50/60 minutes before we pull away slightly. We are a second half team this year scoring 167 points compared to the 116 we have scored in the 1st. I expect a tough game, but in the end we should have too much fire power out wide for them.

Since our Easter Thursday game, the 2 teams have gone...

Leeds:

@ Catalan W 27-12

v Warrington W 28-22

v London W 30-6

v Castleford W 28-12

@ Hull KR W 44-10

League - P 4, W 4, L 0 F 129, A 50, Diff +79

Bradford:

v Salford W 36-24

@London W 46-20

v Wigan L 6-36

@Rochdale W 70-10

@Warrington L 4-32

League - P 4, W 2, L 2, F 92, A 112, Diff -20

Bradford 14-26 Leeds

I'm happy with Leeds being favourites.

To be fair, it's one of those derbies which doesn't always go with form, league position or even who seems to have the most money invested in the squad so I'll always fancy our chances..but without being too cocky! B)

This will be a good test for the new refs Twitter account.

Silverwood

:dry:

The only consolation is that Leeds don't always get on with him either. Kevin Sinfield will have to concentrate on 80 minutes of moaning to the linesmen instead.

If Scruton gets picked, I don't think it will be on the basis of his current form.

With Langley out we dot have much option but to pick him unless we go with three props. That said he was in pretty good form for early part of season and he's only dipped last two or three weeks so a bit harsh to write him off so soon.

I'd play Olbison because he works his socks off.

Addy and Chev could do relieving stints.

That squad doesn't strike fear into anyone. Our bench will be stronger.

Bradford will feel embarrassed by the scoreline at the HJ.  This is the bounceback they need.  I'll go for Bradford to scrape a win.

Even though the Bulls hold a good position in the league, they are struggling against the top 8 this year. The results have gone,

@ Hull FC L 12-28

v St Helens L 10-36

@ Huddersfield W 43-18

@ Catalan L 10-30

@ Leeds D 18-18

v Wigan L 6-36

@ Warrington L 4-32

P: 7, W: 1, D: 1, L: 5, F: 103, A: 198, Diff: -95

On the other hand, Leeds have gone,

v Hull W 36-6

@ St Helens W 20-12

v Huddersfield L 8-32

v Wigan W 18-14

v Bradford D 18-18

@ Catalan W 27-12

v Warrington W 28-22

P: 7, W: 5, D: 1, L: 1, F: 155, A: 116, Diff: +39

That being said, the majority have been away so maybe home field advantage will change their luck. Also, this is the 3rd meeting between the 2 this season. The preseason game (both teams played full strength squads) and the last league game a month ago ended with the Bulls snatching late draws so I expect this to be close throughout.

Leeds are clicking more with ball in hand as the weeks pass now though and the defensive line speed is up there with the best I have seen. It'll be a good game, but the Bulls will have to defend better than they have all year to give themselves a chance. The top 3 players in the league in missed tackles are all Bulls players. Addy (40), Walker (38) and Whitehead (38) will need to address this because they cant afford to lapse in the middle. Leeds will capitalise and make them pay.

And thanks :)

I'm here all season :lol:

I do stuff like this for the majority of games on Southstander. I just rarely bring it over here.

Well you know he's not been sent off that many times,so if he ever gets sent off again ,it would qualify as an "again"and of course we also know that if he became available Bradford Bulls would be near front of the queue

I take it that you think Ryan Bailey will get his marching orders again.

Yes, we are putting on pop concerts now and we need a bouncer.
