Sounds a bit like the Saints problem has been taken to Rochdale along with the coach!

in fairness to Rochdale, I think they only fielded one maybe Dual Reg'ers today but the turning point was Moulsdale the Cru skipper coming off just before half time. Just not the same team without him... Still a convincing win nonetheless agains a well fancied team away fro pm home.....

I think DR not being seen as the panacea it was....

I was thinking more of the coach, who is a Saints coach!  But I appreciate what you are saying.

Great win for the Cru, who have the second best bunch of fans in rugby league not least for their decibel level (and friendliness too)!  I miss the trip to Wrexham.

Nothing to stop you going when it doesn't clash with a Saints game ;)

On recent form it might be more tempting when it does clash!

Yes. we are quite happy to accept dual reg fans!!!

Great win for Cru yesterday.  One question; do the stewardign staff at Rochdale have to be so officious?  Escorting fans to an area away from Hornets supporters, making our (some elderly) fans walk arounf the ground to gain entrance, arguing about childrens (season) ticket entrants. Its a shame and takes the gloss of a fine stadium.

Enjoyed the Skolars-Scorpions match yesterday. Scorpions appear to have a very young team, but they were unfortunate to go in at half time only 14-12 up, having looked much the better side in the first half. In James Tutuila they have perhaps the most exciting passer of the ball in the division. There were a few moments of exquisite skill from him, but he does appear not to be the fittest. Skolars first half performance was as torpid as their previous home game against Hemel, but they got on top in the second half. Neither side looked entirely capable of defending their own line, but once Skolars learnt to keep hold of the ball they had too much for Scorpions. A couple of hitch kicks in runs from massive prop Michael Sykes amused the crowd and on the bell after John Paxton caught the ball above his head AFL style from a kick off a magnificent flowing 80 metre move led to a try in the far corner.

To those for whom such things matter it was 6% London Broncos reserves versus 18% Wigan reserves.

Before the game as I was locking up the car, I was harangued by a toothless old geezer over the fence from the pavement. He told me that he used to go to games, but now that they had let in teams full of union players like Hemel the standard was much worse. He used to prefer it before as while Skolars were losing at least it was to proper clubs. I didn't want to be too argumentative and just said I still enjoyed it, to which he dismissively replied "well that's up to you isn't it". Afterwards I thought finally we have conclusive proof that Rugby League has made it in London when there are individuals hanging around telling you why you shouldn't bother watching games and that the game used to be much better.

That does sound familiar. And fairly ignorant of Hemel's pedigree.

Sorry for your loss today btw.

You have me summed up where CC1 is concerned!

Thank you. As I'm a couple of hundred miles away I don't get to see them that often these days, but I do still follow their progress. I hope they are taking the new challenge of a very non-traditional division in the best spirit. It cannot be easy for traditional clubs such as Hornets and Oldham to be missing out on their more traditional fixtures, but they are performing a great job in helping the game to expand at this level.

I share your enthusiasm for Championship One, and the division's results are the first I look for each weekend - and not just because of the 'Ornets!

To be fair all the "league of death" moaning has died down, hopefully they are all finding a way to make it work and in the end if we want to be a national sport it has to be the way and its nothing more than clubs like skolars and scorpions have been expected to do.
