Batley v Fev latest score

38 posts in this topic

will follow.

Preditions.

If we played like we did against Huddersfield - no team will stop us.

If we played like we did against Leigh -  every team will beat us ( D****bury might scrape a draw)

If we dont get Fev a start (like we ususally do), i fancy our chances.

Batley 23   Fev 18

Attendance, will more that the Huddersfield game (2067)

looks like we're down to fifth then as Leigh lead 28-0 ... very dissappointing

Great advert for Championship rugby.

We had our chances, but didn't take them whereas Fev did. Thought Fev were just a little slicker all round though, and had more zip ball in hand.

Maybe I'm being overly critical but we really do lack invention in attack in my opinion. It's very, very predictable. Except when we are chasing the game, ie last 10 mins today and against fax. We play instinctively and look much more dangerous. Yet for the vast majority of the games, it's same old one man stuff. It's getting a little boring to watch too.

We had so much ball today, especially in the first half, but very rarely looked like scoring again. Our tries came from a slightly fortunate kick and a wonderful individual try from Johnson.

Defence is great, and we make yards, we just seem to lack the clinicalness required to beat the better teams in this division, as results over the last 2 years bear teatimony to. Perhaps JK needs to focus a little more now on what we do when we have the ball, instead of when we don't.

Best game in a batley shirt from Liam Walmsley today, absolutely excellent. Potts, both Johnsons and George also impressive.

Start again next week.

Cracking game of Rugby and if we had taken our first half chances and the ref would have played the advantage in the first half for the dogs that he did in the second for Fev we could have nicked it. Certainly dont have to fear any team in this division. As we are exactly half way through the season after we catch-up with the Swinton game next week I think we are in a good position for a top three finish.

an arm wrestle after a week of high emotion at the club. We weren't at full tilt and it showed.

Score just about adequately reflected the game in my opinion. If I come away from the mount with a win, no matter how it looked, I'm happy.

Not a spectacle, but it'll do!

yeah what right have little old batley got to lose by only four points to the mighty fev... ??

Who is that comment aimed at? Apologies if I have misread this but it comes across as having a dig at Robin's post. I think most Featherstone fans, including Robin, have the utmost respect for Batley.

Robins' posts always appear to be pretty reasonable.

I thought that Rovers played the better football and that the score was just about right; but that there were enough ifs and buts to console the Batley fans.  Two bad decisions maybe cost us the match.  The otherwise excellent Walton looking inside when Potts had a clear run to the line on the outside (understandable given that the usual fullback, Greenwood, normally hunts nearer the middle of the park), and the refs decision not to allow advantage to Batley when Black raced away with the ball.  Perhaps someone with a clearer view of the incident can explain the refs' action?

Good game by two excellent sides.....overshadowed for Fev fans by things out of our control; Batley have a great defensive structure and I wish them luck in whatever they do; Great club and friendly people;

I think the ref had already blown his whistle which hindered Batleys advantage;

Yeah I think your right, I did feel at the end we could've got more from the game but fair play to Fev they took their chance's when they came and we missed a couple.

Hope Fev win the league if we could finish 3rd/4th i'd be happy.

Next week Greenwood, Applegarth and Davies should be fit so hopefully Swinton will see what we are capable of. Up the dogs.
