No size, power, runners or offloads fix them 4 items and we'll be ok.

Surely there is at least one good prop out there who would sign for us?

Its a Bingo term. You filled my 'RL Meltdown' card in one fell post.

Sky didn't ruin our great game, they made it infinitely better. The good old days wern't actually that good at all, especially for York. Dual-Registration needs looking at I agree, but it doesn't necessarily need scrapping. And York have one of the best Head Coaches they have had in living memory, he certainly does not need to go.

May I suggest a nice cup of tea and a sit down?i think your wrong about sky but the coach might be good if our parent club wasn't pulling the strings.sky has killed the game outside sl in deed for most sl clubs as well. half the league has nothing to play for and as for determing who the champions are, what a joke! i've had my cuppa and i still feel the same

Ask another question -how do the Eagles attract, and then keep, players of the quality of Togagae, Yere and Taulapapa ? How is it done ? Could the Knights do it ?.

Easy enough. Easier than you think. Yes.

well if G T picks players who he knows are not committed to the cause (D R ) maybe it's time for him to go. however i would expect his hands will be tied as he makes no secret of his dissliking of dual reg.

bottem line is people will watch a bunch of tryers but not somebody going through the motions

scrap DR now. if SL don't want there youngsters, make them free agents, and if they make the grade they can pay a transfer fee.i think that used to happen in the good old days before sky ruined our great game.

rant over

are you for real,Time for him to go lol,get a grip man.

This seasons squad was recruited & therefore costed based on the fact that we were always going to

have dual reg players to supplement it, so it leaves GT & Rammo with the thankless task of not only

trying to get the best out of the York lads, but also lads who don't even appear at every training session

& get paid by another club.

At the end of the day this is the route the club took, maybe if no dual reg & therefore more 'York players'

fully signed on, we might not have been able to afford the likes of Brown, Scott, Nicholson etc, etc..

Should we suggest that Gary instigates an interrogation procedure at Thursday training - perhaps a blindfold and a dripping tap on the players head ? Or cocktail sticks under the fingernails ? :(

i don't think gary should go, but what i am trying to say is he has lambasted the dl players at least twice, with the exception of briscoe, yet still plays them which suggests to me that his hands are tied

To the best of my knowledge, Deano, that's not so.

As I understand it, it is Gary's call and he certainly confirmed that in interview after Sunday's game but put yourself in his shoes - pick the DR, they dont perform and ( heaven forbid ) we get relegated or don't pick the DR players and ( heaven forbid ) we get relegated. Could be a no-win scenario. Very, very awkward. We all have our own opinions about DR but I think GT has most of the DR players and their relative commitment weighed up now..

Well he wasn't picking Jamie Shaul when Tom Carr was fit, despite Hull moaning about it in the HDM... What does that tell you?

that tom is a better player.but that's not my point. my point is i would rather someone give there all even if they are not as good alegedly, than someone continually going through the motions

Which is the SuperLeague player and which is the Championship player? Which one gives their all and which one goes through the motions?

GT picking Carr over Shaul is exactly what you are asking for here.

Sometimes GT's hand is forced by injuries. Nobody can help that.

The biggest issue for the Knights is the fear of relegation into Championship One and probably oblivion, so they're grasping at any life belt that has been thrown their way ie DR players. Maybe if the RL introduced a system, lets call it a franchise system, where the clubs are guaranteed 3 years in the Championship in which time they can develop both on and off the pitch, bring their own players through the clubs pathway system to the first team and promote the wonderful game of rugby league and try to increase gates and revenue streams. After the 3 years are up they are audited to a strict criteria, if they fail they are relegated and and another club takes their place and so on and so forth. I wonder if such a system would work :D

But that would be a bit cheeky, you'd be expecting the junior club in the partnership to keep your fringe players and senior players returning from injury match fit to the detriment of the clubs own contracted players, that can't be right, can it?

"Brett waller should never have left York" - although I bet he's a better player for it. Wouldn't be suprised to see him in a York shirt next season.

Please, no.

Please, no.

He's got all the attibutes to be an excellent prop, just needs better players around him and a good coach, maybe he'll get both at Hull next year?

Got to say Nathan freer was fantastic today the lad gets a lot of criticism on here but today he was immense.

Jiggly

I agree, personally not a fan of Freer but today I take my hat off to him, ran with purpose and tried to off-load whenever, maybe the stint with the 'kick and clap brigade' has done him good.

Overall great performance today from all of the lads, so nice when you leave a game thinking there could have been several MOMs, we scored some very good tries and when we decided it attack looked dangerous, tackling wise we bent them at times and played the hold down much better than usual.

As for the York old boys Waller and Waterman, wouldn't have either back, neither looked fit as per their stints at York.

Crunch must win game next week as all around us are picking up bonus points, tough league this one.
