THE RED ROOSTER

England v New Zealand - The Cricket Thread

Id certainly have him in instead of Bopara. As I say this year he has excelled with bat and ball at each discipline.

He is prertty pacey as well and would certainly be a better bet currently than a Dernbach and even batting wise

currently than Morgan, Needless to say though just talking in terms of the limited over game.

Plus, he's in form. Most of England's current one-day side isn't in form. Given that key players are out of form (most of the batsmen, all the bowlers bar Jimmy and Swann), England could do worse than call on Napier.

5 overs gone, England have scored a massive 4 runs so far for the loss of one wicket.  I'm not sure if NZ will be able to keep up with that fantastic run rate.

That was a better finish to the England innings. :)

Incredible hitting by Buttler, especially against the world class Southee at the death. He really rattled the Kiwi bowlers. Magnificent entertainment.

Yes, it was astonishing. It's a pity England dawdled and lost wickets just before the Power Play (usual doziness from Ian Ronald Bell), as otherwise they might have posted 300-plus.

Kiwis 84-2 after nearly 14 overs. Tredwell and Bresnan have pulled the run rate back a bit and - shock horror - Guptill's out!
