Featherstone 56 - 6 York City Knights

If you have your DR in we should win but if there all your own anything could happen we all know what happened at your place

We've won games with DR players in the team too. We also lost by 90 points with no DR players in the team.

Lets just hope for 17 players that want to play regardless, and we should go alright.

I believe we'll win - also, Fev believe we'll win too.

Not a clue. Odds are always against York regardless.

Just glad that waste of a shirt Jamie Shaul will hopefully never don a Knights jersey again , he was an insult to the club & his fellow players , Billy Big Time , he wants to try having a job then playing rugby ! He might appreciate the effort & commitment our boys put in during the week if he had to work for a living !

Well...

Not such a bad game all in all. Fev are top of the league now and rightly so. They were bigger stronger faster older more experienced and better paid. And they put their first team out.

Tbh though, they had 3 tries that shouldn't have happened, so the 30 isnt far off what happened.

A try within 2 tackles of a kick off: now that is our fault for falling asleep, but it was their experience that scored that.

There was a try 3 tackles after a knock on was given against Brining, but it wasnt a knock on at all imho.

There was a try shortly after an alleged dangero us throw was penalised- that happened in front of us and it was a pearler, stenchion hit him so hard his legs just folded when he put him down. It was cited but I don't think it'll come to anything. The fev lad landed on his back, they made a meal of it, he came back on 5 minutes later.

Sully's try on halftime was outstanding. Don't think we saw the ball much after that.

So, I think, all things considered, decent match and well worth the journey.

All their tries were 10 yards short anyway ;)

What's the story with Browny , apparently dropped , hope he's not going all big times Charlie on us , we've had enough of them this season

Couldnt fault the lads for 60 minutes of top effort.

Defence on the edges was good today but the lads took such a lot of pressure up the middle from Crossley, James and Co, they were out on their feet after the hour.

Scotty was excellent again as was Elvis and the Presley/Johnston partnership looks as though it might pay dividends against our tier of the division.

Az Lyons got a bad knock as did Nat Browne. New winger didnt do anything daft but didnt get more than the odd opportunity. Out of the DR Jack Briscoe was very good again but, and I know its a personal opinion, I'd just as soon have Jack Pickles and Ry Mallinder or Jack Iley in the back row..

Big thanks to Fordy who, once again, stopped the commentator dead in his tracks on several occasions during the match but provides a superb insight into what is, was, and should be going on out in the middle. Just a shame injury prevented him being out there with his troops..

I would say that if any player under performs at home he should not be given the chance of playing away at the home of the top of the league. That isn't big time charlie player, that is good coaching imho. He was dropped, he didnt just not play. Also, we were never going to beat them away, but were always going to pick up injuries, so punishment/protection is even better coaching.

I know, I think you're all mighty relieved that we didn't do the double over you!

Nobody expects to beat Fev at Postage-stamp Road. We didn't expect to beat you at York, and you never expected to be beaten - it was just those extra 20 yards you couldn't quite get to grips with...

Should we have played our star halfback even though he's been lacklustre at home? Should we have played him at the top of the league and expected league champions' house? Should we have played him at the expected league champions' house now the Anti-Tamper egg timer has run out?

"Yeah, you've been ###### recently mate despite your wage, but don't worry, you can show yourself off at Fev even though it's a nothing match and they might give you a contract for next year before the end of this season so you have no incentive to be anything but ###### for us on your wage for the rest of your contract."

I feel our Coach has made an outstanding decision.

And anyway, he'd have got mullered at your place and we'd be without our star halfback completely for the rest of the season while we fight against those that could see us relegated. We're not going to place above Featherstone, so why risk relegation in a pointless fight? We don't all have the resources Fev have - hence the Winger at fullback, hence the trialist-from-a-different-game on the wing, hence your 2nd row being bigger than our front row - we can't risk players when we haven't realistically got anyone to fill their position.

Also missed training last week & turned up late for another session so right decision by the coaching

staff for me.

Game itself, proud of the effort the lads put in, fell away at the end, but got to remember that

Lyons & Browne went off & couldn't come back due to injury, so less interchanges on a hot day

against class opposition.

We miss the next 2 games due to holidays, which will mean we will get 6 points (hopefully)...
