Magic weekend

Why on earth do they hold it at such a big venue? It looks shocking. Surely somewhere like Leigh Sports Village would be better.

things ive learnt so far from today

match 1, craig gower and chris bailey must wonder what they are doing playing in the same team as the likes of jamie o,callaghan and  scott wheeldon.

Kieron Dixon is the new Jason Robinson and will be a future international winger

Catalans could and should have been 20 points down at half time.

match 2, justin carney is an absolute beast of a winger and ben cockeyne isnt...

Rangi Chase is still head and shoulders above any other half back

justin poore is unfit and on a par with ali laulaltia

stop tim smith and you stop wakey

match3, the video ref must  have backed Hull FC

tom lineham is a fantastic prospect

Both Hull FC and HKR have fantastic support at this Magic Weekend

Craig Hall scored one of the tries of the day taking that kick and getting the ball down

match4, stefan ratchford is a class act

jon wilkin is  average so is Lance Hohaio

Trent Waterhouse is wires best forward by a country mile

some great tries and probably the best game - just

4 good games but so many tries now come off kicks

Maybe they should hold the end of season promotion/relegation deciders there, which provide such exciting and tense entertainment, like footballs equivalent ?

Oh hold it a minute. I apologise.

We don't have them, do we ?

Leigh is too small but i know what you mean although it is growing as an event. It just looks poor to see banks of empty seats all weekend. I don't think you can fault the pricing though £6 per match is brilliant value. They should try Goodison park as a venue, it holds 40,000 and Liverpool has the same facilities as Manchester

Man city holds 47k.

At any one time there is no more than 25k. Not all fans watch the games. Even the biggest rugby lovers don't think want to be sat around for 8-9 hours watching 4 games.

I think Broughs interview sums up Rugby league at the moment. He's not really bothered about finishing top, he is just happy with finishing in the top four.

Surely as a pro sportsman you want to be the best you can be. Winning & losing makes sport what it is.

Finishing top shows you are the best in the sport for that year, regardless of winning the cup at the end of the season. But if you do both, then you can claim to be the true champion, and to be a legendary team to win every comp available.

Just like Hunslet

62,000 over the two days clearly more fans today than yesterday a 40,000 stadium makes more sense

But this is what the play offs produce. It doesn't matter too much where you finish at the end of the league season, you are just playing a preamble to the bigger event!

Well what is the point of playing in a league? You might aswell just play the 14 teams in a knockout comp for one month to see who wins.

But then again like I say, do teams just want to be remembered as a good team or a great team or a legendary team.

Be better to hold it at some were like Huddersfield, over the river, hull...

You couldn't do that as one of the teams would have home advantage.
